Well, I just recently came back from a rafting trip to Utah which I loathed. So, I decided to think upon better vacations I've had.

My personal favorite has to be Egypt. I went with my mother when I was fourteen; I saw the Pyramids, the Sphynx, floated down the Nile, and even haggled at a bazaar for a nice little obsidian sarcouphagus(sp?) which now resides upon my desk. It was a mind-blowing trip.

Second would be Japan. Because it's freakin' Japan! Everything I love is made there! The reason it's second though is because my mother decided it would be fun to hike up Mount Fuji. It was not. I would like those fourteen hours of my life back.

How about you guys? What are some of your favorite vacations that you've taken?

Probably Australia, where I went for a month when I was 11. I'm quite lucky in that I've been on loads of nice holidays.

I'd like to go to Japan, sounds rad.

I never do anything fancy or expensive though. My idea of fun is going to my friends cabin and swimming during the day in the lake and drinking beer and partying at night. Repeat for several days and go home happy.

My favourite vacation was when i went to Ponta Miellie Bongalala in Mozambique, sure it is a very poor country, but it doesn't matter because it was a gorgeous beach in the middle of an elephant reserve, nothing but swimming and fishing for a few weeks with almost no people around

Egypt comes in a close second but since the people there were so pushy and obnoxious some times (i got stalked by a guy there.... he followed me all through the area around the Sphinx shouting "Canada Dry, come back").

Sigh... i could have gone to Japan on a school exchange but the parents of the Japanese students canceled because of the depression and because they were afraid of swine flu.

And probably every single trip I've ever gone on will be overshadowed in a years time when i finally get to go on the rotary exchange trip and get to go to school in a foreign country for a year.

Boundary Waters, Northern Minnesota: I walked Onto the Canadian side of the river illegally and peed there... It was during winter so the lakes/rivers where frozen over...
