Your favourite ambient sound.

So I was thinking with school and everything my most ambient noise is computer fans.
However it's not my favorite.

Mine would have to be any kind of rain.

The name says it all, what's your favorite ambient sound?
(No particular criteria, it could be music, sounds, noises, anything)

Ah yes I didn't consider the impact, the sound is nice enough for me, but if I had to choose I think I'd pick simply concrete.

Rain for me as well.. though what I really enjoy is thunder.

I like silence personally. Not your bog standard "nothing is happening" silence. I'm talking complete silence, in a soundproof booth etc

Rain is a common one. I kinda like the atmosphere of a quiet night when it is snowing however. It isn't much of a sound, but it has a certain feeling to it that I like. As long as it is relatively quiet that is. A small breeze, slightly chilled air...I always like it.

Yeah that one is nice too, but living where it snows for about 9/12 months it's already ambient enough to be annoying.

Summer Thunderstom. Preferably when the rain is beating down on a tin roof, but I'm not all that picky.

The sounds of nature. Just sitting in the woods and hearing all the different animals and the trees. One of the reaons I love hikking.

Hmm. Rain is pretty nice. I think it depends what the rain is hitting though. The sound of the impact is key to the whole experience for me.

ooo, that's a good one. Rain is so soothing. I always have to go out into the rain and pray

Where I grew up, (and when I suppose was important too), the sound of Cicadas accompanied my time outside during the summer. For those unaware, a cicada makes the buzzing sound in the background of this video:
