What is your favourite super-hero (or just hero), and what is your favourite story-arc/graphic novel in their universe?

Mine is Batman, he is just a very deep character with a rich and diverse universe. There are some really memorable villains such as Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, Bane, Ras Al Ghul, Mr.Freeze, Two Face and of course, The Joker.

My favourite story arc/graphic novel is probably Killing Joke, although Hush comes close.

Does Rorschach count? If so, him. Otherwise Batman. But to be honest, I don't really read comics at all. I saw previews for Watchmen before it came out and thought it looked cool, so I read the graphic novel and was blown away. I am thinking about getting V for Vendetta and The Killing Joke, but as of now, Watchmen is the only graphic novel I have read. If anyone has suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. However, I am not too interested in a series, and am looking more for a stand-alone story.
Sorry if I derailed the topic a bit.

I grew up with Marvel, so I'm going to say Nick Fury.
I don't care if he isn't a "true" superhero, he's a fucking badass.

Deadpool.

I've always loved his humor, and he's pretty dang awesome to boot.

Spider-man was my favorite growing up, but lately I've been really enjoying Scott Pilgrim, if he counts.

Well, I would most definitely recommend V for Vendetta. I'd also give Kickass a look, since it's just a great read.

And if you want a way to get into Batman I'd say check out Year One.

Hmm well growing up i read a lot of Marvel comics. With the new(er) marvel characters being drawn, i had to go with Nightstalker. His new attitude really makes him a bad-ass. Now he is able to control what he teleports with him, in one comic some dude flipped him off and he teleported just his finger....

Do you mean Nightwalker or am I being stupid? Blue guy, an X-man, teleports everywhere?

I'm a fan of Madame Mirage. I love the classic film noir style.

As far as mainstream goes, I'm a fan of Dr. Manhattan. He's just always been an interesting character for me.

War Machine!! I always loved the concept that he was just a regular-type guy in a badass armored flying suit, festooned with ordnances.
