Before they announced Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut for the WiiU, Square Enix was my favorite publisher. Some of my favorite games are from Eidos, and for the most part I think they did a good job reviving Eidos franchises.
OMG, they are going to make a special edition of a loved classic AND make it exclusive to the most powerful console in the market? What a crime.
They fixed almost everything that was bad about that game (not that much bad about it, but it's there), improved on it, and then made it exclusive to a console that 90% of the fans won't buy. It's not a crime (since it's legal), but it's a dick move. The most powerful console? Yes, a bit more powerful than the other two is technically the most powerful. Talk to me in a few months when the PS4 comes out, and we'll see how that excuse hold.
Eh . . . yeah I sorry I would have to agree with the other dude that I don't understand what your problem is. I have HR, I enjoyed it, boss battles and all and no updated version on a console that I wont buy isn't going to change that. It's like getting mad at Nintendo or whoever because Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive.

Look at the alternative. They didn't have to update the game AT ALL. Would that be a dick move? Just releasing it and not fixing people's perceived problems? No. So why then is fixing it and granting exclusivity to Nintendo (who no doubt is paying them money for that exclusivity) a dick move? If Sony or MS wanted an exclusive updated game they should have thrown money at Eidos/Square too but they didn't so whatever.
It's a dick move because Deus Ex: HR isn't an exclusive game, but they're making the patch exclusive. The patch that fixes basically everything that was wrong with the game. Don't even try to tell me that you wouldn't be pissed if you had a game that had problems, but your console would never get the patch, because of "exclusivity".

Edit: A non-exclusive "exclusive" game.

Edit #2: OT: I'd have to say.....Hm...this is pretty hard. I really like Bethesda, but I also really like CD Projekt. Then you also have to throw in Take-two(2k)....Tie. I can't choose, it's too hard. It seems like these are the top 3 winners though.

Except it's not a "patch" it's a new edition of the game.
It's like the Armored edition of Arkham City.

I have HR, I loved it, and I'm not pissed. I accept the games flaws and all just as I do other games which are equally flawed in different ways.
It's only flawed if you get any version that isn't the WiiU version. And that's the damn problem about it. This idea of, "You can only buy the good version on this console", is a complete dick move by the company. All of the problems wrong with the PC/xbox 360/PS3 versions can be fixed with a patch, that we know they've already made. Do you think that they just took the game and built it from the ground up, JUST for the WiiU?

Edit: Also about this:

YES! That would've been a dick move. If you know something is wrong with your game, you fucking fix it.

My pick is 2K. XCOM, Civ 5, Spec Ops: The Line, Borderlands 2, Mafia 2...need I say more?
They just seem to have a lot of my favourite games. I didn't even have Steam before I saw what the 2K bundle had it in, then I signed up for Steam and bought it that very same night that I saw it.

Edit: Decided to peruse the other answers and was sort of amazed that someone said EA. True I loved their Mass Effect but I don't like their practices.

Double edit: Now that I think about it I don't mind Bethesda either. But I guess it isn't really that I have loved any of their games either...

Paradox Interactive.

They sure get greedy with the DLC, but the niche games that they are supporting from that are totally woth it.
How do they get greedy with the DLC? 2 Bucks for an optional sprite pack and 20 bucks for an xpack is hardly egregious?

Paradox because i love me some grand strategy and even without those they still got some really cool unusual games (magicka, showdown effect and mount&blade for example)

I have to agree. It's something that is completely optional for the buyer, so I don't see the problem with asking 2 dollars for a sprite pack you might like. And those expansion packs? They actually feel like an expansion. Sometimes I feel like "expansion pack" gets used for things that are too little.

Valve...... What?

Okay fine...
2K's pretty good right now.
Lots of people hate the Season Pass thing, but I like it, If I'm probably going to get the DLC anyway why not get it at a discount?

Atlus and AKSYS are up there too because they bring over lots of great Japanese games.

Other than that I don't really have any opinion one way or another on most of the Pubs.
Activision and EA are turning "publisher" into a dirty word so all the other pubs I can think of are just trying to be "not worse than EA" And I'm not going to start judging publishers by the developers they carry, because that's just silly.

The point is if this edition wasn't coming out at all you probably wouldn't give a shit. Sure you'd still complain about it's problems but you wouldn't be expecting them to fix it.

And the only reason it's coming out is probably because of Nintendo so I do a shit that an edition that only exists because of a certain platform will only be on that platform and I wont get to play it? No. Because I'm satisfied with the game I played and don't need anything more from it.

The game isn't broken. It's simply flawed. I don't expect companies to fix flaws, I expect them to improve upon those flaws in future iterations. I expect companies to fix BUGS. The shitty boss battles are not bugs. Not being able to throw back grenades is not a bug. Not having a new augmentation to get enemy data is not a bug. They're completely optional and the game is playable without it.
Uh, yeah, I did expect them to fix it. Just because it's coming out on the WiiU doesn't mean I didn't expect them to fix problems that needed fixing. And yes, I do want them to fix the flaws in the game, not just the bugs. I mean, Jesus, they already have, why not just release an update for PC and consoles? It would be more profitable in the long run. People who don't own it because of the flaws, will now buy it, and the people that already own WiiU's will still buy it. Hardly anyone who already own's the game is going to shell out the money for the console and game they already own. And don't give me that crap about how they don't own it, because it's the "director's cut", so it's a different version. Bullshit, the only thing they've changed so far is actual gameplay that should've been fixed long ago. If they could fix it for the WiiU, it should've been fixed for everything else.

CD Projekt because I love them how their treat their customers fairly.

Other than that, I would certainly go for 2k as well.

Valve via Steam, beyond a shadow of a doubt. Though CD Projekt is pretty good, too, though.

Probably Valve overall in terms of number of published good games that I like.

But, they haven't released anything lately, so as of right now probably 2k for Xcom, Bioshock, Civ and so forth.

Here's another 2k guy. They've greenlighted so much stuff that wasn't just another grey-brown shooter like Bioshock, Borderlands, XCOM, etc.
Or Valve. Or Nintendo.
It's like asking me to choose my favourite book, favourite movie or favourite album, it's not fair!

"Need" is subjective and I don't think it applies in this case. You "wanted" them to fix things, but they don't need to be fixed.

And give me a break. The only thing they've changed is fixes? Did you not read what I wrote. About NEW augmentations? You telling me that augmentations that were NOT IN THE GAME were something that needed to be fixed? You telling me that enhanced graphics are something that needed to be fixed? Quit deluding yourself.

I've already played HR. The boss battles gave me trouble but I beat them on hard, unfocused augmentation trees and all, and even with a subversive chip implant to boot. Personally, rather than fix people's perceived problems of a 2 year old game I'd rather they spent those energies on making the next game better.
Okay, you have me there for the augmentations; but that doesn't change the fact that they've already fixed what everyone wanted fixed, and that they're restricting it to a single console. It's not like it would be that hard fix either. They've literally already fixed it, they just need to apply it to the other consoles and PC. And there isn't a single reason why they shouldn't.

I'd say the Big N, NINTENDO!

two words, Fire Emblem.

Everything else is frosting on the cake, Luigi's Mansion Dark moon icing on the cake, a HD remake of Wind Waker icing on the cake, A CROSS OVER BETWEEN SMT AND FE... i'm sold, while everybody else is saying what a big show the other two are making, Nintendo isn't just bring the big guns their bring the Tsar Bomba to a shoot out.

Oh and New pokemon generation.

I'd have to go with Atlus, Persona is pretty much the greatest RPG series of all time, 3 and 4 were flawless.

I'm big on Atlus, but Nintendo, after much nail biting, did bring over Xenoblade and Fire Emblem and did a spectacular job about it, other than the low prints... I'm a preorder sort of person anyway, so I never ran into the availability problems.

But yeah, Atlus is still tops. I can't argue with the people who saved Dragon's Crown from the Ignition meltdown, brought over SMT and Etrian Odyssey, and brings out these niche releases with good communication to boot.

Exclusivity rights.
If the game is exclusive to the WiiU it goes to reason that Nintendo secured the rights of distribution to being on their console only. Why else would it be exclusive to the WiiU?

So best you can hope for is that the exclusiveness is time-based so it will eventually open up to the other brands. Hell, who knows, maybe just like Riddick's Assault on Dark Athena the next Deus Ex game will likewise include its predecessor for free when it's released on next-gen consoles.

The WiiU from my understanding isn't doing great. A lack of big game titles is probably one reason why. So it goes to reason that Nintendo would be trying to lure so-called "hardcore" gamers to the consoles with exclusive titles, and since developing a full game is expensive, why not just re-release games with additional content like Batman Arkham City Armored Edition. Doesn't convince me to get the thing but it may work with others.
I suppose :/
Still...I don't like it. I know that they want to draw in the "hardcore" crowd with the WiiU, but it just feels like we got pissed on. I understand what you mean, why they went exclusive and all, but it just doesn't feel right to the fas. And maybe it's just me, but I don't think this is really going to draw in the crowd they expect.

Sorry, I have to apologize for the times I went a little overboard with my argument. I didn't mean to direct any anger towards yourself. I just hate that it feels like they are screwing over the people that have already gotten the game. I've always been a believer in the fact that there shouldn't be a "best version" of a game. I don't hate exclusivity at all, but I believe that if you're going to make a multi-platform game, then make it equal. Don't favor one console or PC. Sigh.....
