Well, not as much a city as a country, but Mulgore in WoW was made absolutely fantastically well. I'd so live there.
mulgore is nice, but it would get boring after a while as the only thing that happens is the darkmoon faire comes around quarterly, you would also have to dodge angery tauren for a while.

i say Stormwind City in Warcraft, not the game, because the storyline city is larger then NYC

Ohhh! It's so close! I can't choose. Stillwater? Liberty City? San Andreas? City 17?

That's gotta be it. City 17. I would choose from Fallout, but not many cities... WAIT! I HAVE IT!

Time to go off the beaten path...

Cerulean City from Pokemon R/B!

Just getting out of Mt. Moon, and the music is great!
Oooh, Mt. Moon.
You win my everlasting respect for thinking of this. Any city is wonderful after hours of Geodude.

I'd have to for The Citadel (Mass Effect) because living on a great big multi-species space station that nobody knows how works is pretty funny.

Alternately, Sunset Valley or Riverview from The Sims 3.
Why you ask?
Because you can spend a couple of hours chatting up just about anyone above the age of consent and then they will have sex with you if you ask them. I could definitely live in a place like that for a couple of years :)

I really liked the Nord town in Oblivion, I can't remember it's name now though :( But it had a really nice feel to it, and I liked all of the Viking style log houses, and the fact that my stealth/ ninja character could jump along the rooftops at night whilst doing their nefarious deeds :D
That city is Bruma.

OT my favourite city would be the one city I built in Ceaser 3 that didn't get destroyed by fire/disease/barbarian invasion.

Balmora, from Morrowind. I mean, all the cities in that game were fantastic and fun to be in, but I practically live in Balmora. There's just almost no reason to leave. Especially when you 'own' the manor there.

Stilwater! It seems like a good place to live. After the player beats the game, that is. After that, you don't have to worry about the gang wars, just let the player have his crazy Ultor shenannigans.

Elysia from Metroid Prime 3. That counts, right? It might have been abandoned but it looks kickass.

I just can't pick one, I really can't. It's a tie between Puerto Pollo from Curse of Monkey Island, Dalaran from WoW (it trumps all other WoW cities out there), the Citadel from Mass Effect, City 17 in Half Life 2 and Bioshock's Rapture. All of them are fantastic in their own rights.
