So fairly recently I got the opportunity to fire a Desert Eagle, one of my favorite firearms in media.

What firearms do you want to fire before dying?

I always did want to fire a laser gun. Of course, fi we're limiting ourselves to things that actually exist then a classic Smith & Wesson would be marvellous.

I'm good. I shot an M2 Browning at MCT. Once you go .50 cal, you don't go back...

Being able to fire a M1 Garand would be pretty cool. There was a War Day thing not too long ago in a nearby town that had lots of old army jeeps and weapons. I got to hold a real Garand but sadly it had no bullets.

Garand, you mean?

But yeah, M1 Garand, SMLE, lots of things by Browning. Things militaries have adopted, not weird tacticool rubbish for civilians.

Broomhandle Mauser.

I want to be Han Solo, damnit.

I'd settle for being able to make an M1 Garand go ping, or going full auto with an AK series.

Well, I managed to get one of my bucket list guns, a Mosin Nagant m1939 Cavalry Carbine.

Right now I'm just really trying to find a Semmerling LM4. I'd love an XLM, but those were never made public.

Definitely some sort of orbital nuke platform, or deathlaser. Will settle for what I could legitimately call a plasma rifle.

srs ansr: I dunno, maybe just some sort of actual firearm into a target. I've never fired anything bigger than a BB or an arrow, so while I'm curious, I'm not fussy. Nor am I particularly fussed, coming from a country that doesn't do firearms much. Maybe a big shotgun of some description so I can feel the kick.

Also, given that it is loaded with a clip, not a detachable magazine, you can annoy people that try to explain the different between clip and mag.

Hmm, what's left on my list... I got out before the FGM-148 Javelin entered service. But I qualified on M72 LAW and AT-4, so I'm probably not missing much. Could be interesting to see first hand how a SCAR-L or G36 compares to an M4 or my old M16A2.

Now, on my love to own that I've fired list... The only one that I'd really want would be a Webley Mk. IV.

I've got an uncle who collects WWI, WWII, and Korean War firearms, and the M1 Garand is his personal favorite. He has like twenty of them now, including a rare M1-E5 "Tanker Garand" (18" barrel and collapsible stock variant that never entered service which was meant for paratroopers and vehicle crews), an M1-C sniper variant, and two M1-D sniper variants.

His pride and joy though is a standard M1 Garand that was sent to the British as part of the Lend-Lease program and was left in a locker and forgotten until after the war. It was manufactured in 1940, still has all of its original parts, and has never been fired.

They're a lot of fun to fire, and actually make for a pretty good choice for beginners. Just gotta watch out for M1-Thumb. If you're not careful, they bite!

EDIT:
As for me? Probably a Mk.19.

I've got a friend who was a combat engineer in the Army Airborne that speaks fondly of getting the opportunity to fire one mounted on one of his unit's Humvees. It's a belt-fed automatic 40mm grenade launcher.

A chainsaw gun that shoots smaller chainsaw guns that shoot chainsaw bullets!

Other than that, just the chance to go to a gun range with someone I deeply care about would suffice in the meantime...

My dad has a Webley revolver (it's a family heirloom.) It's still fully functional although it hasn't been fired in about 25 years. I would love to fire it, although at the same time I'd want to have fired a few other handguns to understand the recoil so it doesn't fly out of my hands and smack me in the face.

Other than that I'd like to experience the old WW2 guns, M1 Garand, FG 42, Thompson, BAR etc. So far I've just shot shotguns and a .22 rifle, so it would be a bit of a time and money investment to seek any of that out.

Ever since it was featured on Forgotten Weapons, the Burgess Folding Shotgun.

However, they're collector's pieces, and no owner of it would allow them to fired as to worsen their value. So, a dream will remain a dream.

Wow there sure is allot of love for the Garand here, but speaking as someone who has fired one before, the recoil can be a bit much if you're not used to rifles. Now the gun I'm most interested in is the good ol' Tommy gun, with its classy look, awesome history, and apparent ability to be manufactured in seconds by bees, it's truly a legend. The BAR, SPAS-12, and the m97 are all cool too.

Yeah, odd that they don't make new versions of that.

IIRC, it took longer to manufacture than most Allied SMGs. The Sten, of course, was made so that anyone could knock it up in a garage workshop in a few hours, but the M3, IIRC, as well as being lighter and accurate than the Thompson, was also cheaper and easier to make.

Though, the Thompson looks much better than either of those.
