My dad made me drive on this really twisty, fast, highly populated 2 lane road on my first time actually driving a car. Needless to say I was pretty scared. Later that week I got on the highway for the first time, that sucked.

Now I drive like a maniac with no fear of messing up. But oh well.

All right I guess, nothing too special. I drove around some neighborhoods for a few hours with my mom. Not the most thrilling experience, but not terrible either. Though I was driving my dad's mustang which was cool.

On a desolate stretch of dirt road near a shooting range, using manual transmission (stick)

It didn't go well.

I just drove around our neighbourhood a couple times after I got my learners permit.

Longest drive I've done so far is about 30 miles from my grandparents house.

Drove my dad's old landrover round a field when I was 14. This also happens to be my only experience of driving. Getting lessons this summer.

My first drive was on the day I got my Permit. I live on a mostly empty back-road so when we were about 10 miles from my house, my dad let me have the wheel.

I did fairly well although I barely went past 30 MPH.

Finland. You are most welcome to come here :) You can drive here for hours and see only trees if you choose quieter routes.

I still have friends who will remind me of the experience by saying "Hello Mister Stop Sign!" which is what my drivers education teacher said over 20 years ago. ;-)

Mine was boring as hell. I was driving around a graveyard. lol. The first time I drove with an actual instructor was okay. He just kept giving very unclear directions on what he wanted me to do. Plus, he kept saying right, instead of something like correct, so I kept doing things wrong when I'd ask him something when I couldn't hear him.

Started driving quad bikes (on my farm) when I was about 7 or 8. Would often blast them around. When I learned to drive though would have been my Dad taking me around the local cemetery.

I've only ever driven a car once... It was in Transition Year in school (Basically a year where you do nothing educational) and we were talkin to a driving school. I didn't get to go that fast but it was fun enough...
I've driven go-carts a few times... (not the bike pedal ones) and they are really good fun...

I should really get round to applying for a provisional license at least... I'm goin to college next year and having a license might be useful.

It was cool, but my driving instructor was the strictest SOB that you could ever come across. He taught me lots of pointless rules and made me perfect them. The rules, of course, were thrown out the window as soon as I passed and started driving how I wanted to drive.
