Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on my Dad's GameGear, I especially remember the second zone where you hand-glided in parts of the level, how I got that far when I must've been about five or something I don't know.

It was either: The Secret of Monkey Island, Prince of Persia [http://www.flash-games.net/online/1463/prince-of-persia.html] or Maths Blaster. And I still have them all sitting around somewhere.

My first proper gaming memories, however, are from playing Mafia with my Dad when I was about 10.

I do not recall the first game I ever played, but the first game I ever bought was Captain SkyHawk for the NES. It was the most exciting feeling ever, purchasing my first game.

The original Castle Wolfenstein on my brand new Tandy 1000 IBM-Compatible PC. I remember escaping with the plans only once, then dismayed to see that i only won a chance to play the game again at the Corporal Rank.

I was all about uses grenades to take out the SS. Only way to make sure.
I have many fond memories of my Tandy 1000 EX....Sid Meyer's Pirates!, and StarFlight for hours and hours
but my first game i ever stayed up all night to play was Pitfall 2 on a borrowed Atari, i was about 5-6 years old, and played till it was done.

Gunship 2000 on a friend's Amiga with a tape drive. It took over 25 minutes to load. Then I crashed and had to start over.

I think it was Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt for the NES,
Unless I played another game I can't remember on the nes before that one.
Bah, going with Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt.

I can't dredge up the memory of the first arcade game I played. I'm sure I was 3 or 4 when a parent who wanted 5 kid-free minutes sent me off with a quarter to play Pac-Man or Galaga or something. However, I do remember my first console game: Pitfall. Which explains my lifelong aversion to crocodiles.

Damn crocs...

Megaman X was the first real game I played. I think the true first game I played was like...Fatty Bear's birthday Surprise when I was like 5 or something.

I got HIND [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hind_%28video_game%29], Hexen II [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexen_II] and a Comix Zone [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comix_Zone] demo disc all at the same time when I was about 11 years old. HIND (military flight sim) was far to complex/boring for an 11 year old, and Comix Zone outdated even then and very difficult, but Hexen II was awesome!

3d lemmings for ps1. My dad bought it for me, it was total crap. I remember not understanding it very well and sucking at it. Plus it sucks. My first real game was Beyond the Beyond. I still love that game. Another honorable mention is Kings Field. Also an excellent game.

The first games I played were on the Atari 2600, tank and the like. The first real console game I sunk my teeth in to was the Legend of Zelda. I still remember how awesome that game was when it came out, memories...
