Funny this topic gets brought up, my first legal (not undocumented security gigs) job was patient transport in order to pay for college.

I will officially quit upon clocking out in 4 minutes. Feeling kind of empty, but I will make myself full with apple fritters =D

I was a hand at a beef cattle ranch. Only rarely interacted with the animals, spent most of my time repairing both physical and high voltage electric fences.

In terms of the animals no, at least not since I started keeping a minimum 200 foot distance from the bulls.

In terms of the electricity, again no. An electric charge that can physically harm a human would also harm the livestock, not a desirable outcome. The current in these fences run between five and ten thousand volts (the speed between waves of current), but have extremely low amperage (the power behind each wave). High voltage current is a concern in normal electric systems because the amperage usually goes up along with the voltage. Getting shocked by these suckers causes your muscles to cramp up and a little bit of pain, nothing serious. Its more there to surprise the animal in question and cause them to avoid the wires. (and thus anything beyond them) I wouldn't advise trying it if you've got a pacemaker or something similarly sensitive though.

My first job was working with my dad and his small construction team. I worked with him during the summers from the time I was 8 until I was about 14. At 15 I got a job working at a TCBY/Mrs. Fields combo store at the mall in my town. I worked there for 7 summers. I made some good friends there, didn't hurt getting to see the girls coming from the beach to the mall and I have an endless supply of stupid customer stories to share with my friends.

Good experience overall.

I was a landscaper for my city with a work permit when I was 16. TBH I liked the job ALOT. the Pay was crappy, the heat sucked but the Friends and co-workers were fun.

There was the old guy who always said he didn't give a sh**, the leader of the group who swore he could get any girl but always got a kick in the crotch, the quiet religious one that screamed sometimes, the one that always made the jokes and how he always had a gas problem, the strong man who found any excuse to workout on the job and then the normal sap who was me.

We always joked and played around, working outside was a good workout so I stayed in shape and plus we went fishing on Fridays if we got our work done early.

It was perfect for a nice growing up job.

Well, I guess everyone at some point had 'THAT' job...or jobs.

Not me... Well unless you count being in the military as 'THAT' job, I don't.

My first job was working at a Radio Shack in a mall. Busiest store in the district. I had an hourly wage of $8, but I average much closer to $14 an hour after bonuses where worked in. Can't beat that in high school when most of the other stiffs are getting $5.15 an hour flipping burgers, or scraping paint.

Edit: I don't really count it but I gave Mcdonald's a go before that, I didn't stick around long enough to really consider it my first job. That would be like saying mowing lawns for family for $20 a pop was your first job.

Kinda have it right now, and I know this sounds generic and cliche as hell, but I babysit a demon kindergartener.

He recently got a new therapist cuz he stabbed his old one with a pencil. The other day he charged me with a broomstick like it was a lance. His mom also came home to him "choking" me while he was wearing an undershirt. And one day when he was pretending to be a baby, he said "pretend you go to sleep and wake up and I'm playing with your lilly." Baby handjob is definitely not my favorite game.

Legal job as being paid and having taxes taken out and legally being recognized? Girl Scout Camp Counselor at 18.

Otherwise I started babysitting around 10 ish because my mom ran a daycare and I helped out after school and homework. I started going out on my own babysitting at like 14 ish for people we knew. I still occasionally do it.

My first and current job is Web Development for a company in my town. Good pay, good hours, secure for the immediate future.

Worked at a grocery store for around a year and half at the end was making around $10.75 an hour at the age of 17 the funnest thing was riding on those karts that disabled people ride on oh man was that fun.

Worked in the kitchen of a local bar and grill, for under minimum wage (gd loop holes and cheap ass bosses). When I turned 16 I started working in the shop of a construction company, was a good way to get my foot in the door for summer work once I turned 18 too.

it was a barista position at the school's union building.

I quit that though and now work at a cafeteria at the same school.

Not impressed with either job and will at least transfer out to get it closer to where I'm livign next year.

Technically I did flyers to my neighbourhood. Shit job with shittier pay. My first "real job" was in highschool, working at a grocery store. I think that's an awesome first job place. The pay isn't good or anything but you meet a lot of people... sometimes, very good looking people
