The first time I was in a band I was 15 and I played bass; the other members of this band included my older brother (21) on drums and his two friends who were 22 and 23. I was a replacement bass player as the old one left because he had better things to do; like meth. I did alright nothing weird happened what did suck was that about halfway into the 1st bands set. I had to wait outside in the van until our set as I was not old enough to be in a bar past 9:00pm excluding during our performance.

Tell us about your first gig. Or maybe a good friend's

When I was 11 I started a band with some mates. We were Punk Rock/Pop Punk. Everybody in it is still a best friend of mine today :) Although one of them is travelling the world and the other is at uni in Wales.

EDIT: Oh yeah and the details. We were called Bob Couldn't Swim. We got our name from playing Worms Armageddon. Alot of other greats were turned down. The line up was
Gav (me) - Guitar
Sam - Vocals
Luke - Bass Guitar
Mike - Drums

Our first gig was at some guy named Callum's birthday. It was in a huge hall and the gig was shite. As we were shite.

HOLY GOD NIVAG IS GAVIN BACKWARDS!

I played drums for an acoustic pop duo on a few songs in their set. I was unremarkable, but not terrible.

It was a pretty neat show, it was at this club called the Death Disco in NYC, we were a punk/glam/rockabilly band called The Designer Drugs (they're still touring although I'm no longer with them), and we played a mixed genre show with Zoe Bonham (daughter of famous Led Zepplin drummer John Bonham) who did her DJ thing. It was fun, although horrible timing. Fourth of july weekend, nobody was in the stupid city!

Oh right the band. It was called Realface it was spelled in all capital letters. Remember, I was a new member had no say in that name. What type of music was it? It was metal I hate using sub genre labels; but culture insists on it so ?speed metal?. I forgot to mention I played the banjo for about 1 out of 5 songs instead of bass.

Those were my favorite.

banjo is the most fun instrument in the universe. I've got a five string myself. I also enjoy the harmonica.

I played my school talent show. It was just me playing solo acoustic guitar and singing I think I played Time of your life by Green Day (I've grown out of them now) and a Neon by John Mayer. I'd say it was an audience of about 300 people and it was being filmed.

16 years old, this week, two days ago, my best friend's birthday, and I interpreted a hard rock version of happy birthday
She almost cried of the emotion, and all my course liked it. That's one fucking huge sucess :D

When I was 10 I played my saxophone in front of an audience consisting of my parents and grandparents. I just played a medley of tunes from my book. It went alright I guess. They asked for an encore but I think they were just being polite.

You were playing at Leeds fest?! [/sarcasm aimed towards someone who obviously hasn't bothered reading the OP]

Anyway... I was in a band called 'Igneous' (as in 'Igneous rock'... it's a very bad joke I know) and we played some Jubilee festival. I can't remember the exact set-list, but I can remember my request that we play God Save the Queen (the Sex Pistols song) was quickly shot down. Apparently we weren't allowed to be 'intentionally offensive'.
