Squirtle on Blue Version. None of the other Poke'mon could do shit to Brock, the first gym. It just didn't make since to go with anything else the first time through. I mean eventually I played through with the others, but that first gym was tough as hell without Squirtle.

when i got pokemon blue i had the logic of, "blue means the water one will be stronger" so i got a squirtle who i nicknamed "squirtle".
it was only after he evolved did i realise i wasn't supposed to nickname him.

i wasn't the brightest child.

Squirtle, I read up about the game as soon as I saw in on Games Chart on channel 4 all those years ago, and I heard that Squirtle made beating Brock easier. I'd be a water trainer though, and wherever I can I play a hydromancer so hey *shrug*
