The thread was about useless powers. I think I answered the question sufficiently enough.

Well that was disappointing. I of course did not expect a glowing review from Yahtzee, but this was just pure hate.
I pretty much refuse to play FPS games on consoles regardless, but I was sort of hoping the hype around this one for the Wii actually being good was true. Would be nice to have something decent to play on there.
I usually consider Yahtzee to be objectively disdainful towards everything (is that a contradiction?), which I enjoy, but I get the feeling with this one that he just unconditionally hates all-things Wii and passes judgment on it before even looking at it.
sneh..
In retrospect I don't think I really give as much a shit about the Conduit as that post seems to indicate.

Bioshock

it's suprising that the game that was supposedly the game that won so many awards got boring after the first playthrough. It was fun, but after you beat it once, its worthless.
I bought it for $60... worst financial descision of my life, that 60 dollars could have been used for so much more...

it's a game to rent, not buy

Now unless I try games, I won't buy right away, and reviews don't help, they all said Bioshock was great... only for the first playthrough

the only exception for this is Haze for the PS3, and the reason for that is that it is being made by the creators of Goldeneye for the N64, and the greatest FPS series of all time, and the Timesplitters games, games that were always fun.
It was about what game you regretted buying. Hehe, "worst financial decision of my life"... I was such a drama queen.

Whats with all the boring, unoriginal cartoons nowadays? All I see now are boring and to say the least, bland shows! So please, what happened to Sponge Bob? Jimmy Neutron? Hey Arnold? And of course, PowerPuff girls.

Have you ever played a game that you absolutely hated the first time you played, but a while later you liked?

For me it was Gladius on the Gamecube. At first I couldn't stand the combat, but I found it fun about a year later.

Average, but my first post was also in the first thread I made, so... that's something.

Well-written. How long did you spend on that, and did he actually ever respond? Amongst the sea of shit his inbox must have been made of, I'd imagine if he actually read yours he might have been relieved to know that there is one person who can e-mail with a shred of respect and dignity.
I probably spent a while on it; I write pretty slowly, but with deliberation.

I never got a response, but I never expected one. Just thought maybe The Dice asking people to bother him and people seeing at least somebody go for it might make more people do so. Oh well.

"People who are ultra dependent. If you cease to function when I leave the room then I don't care how nice or cute you are."

Rather boring first post, same day I finally made an account.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky review

*sigh* I've always liked ZP. Yahtzee is a great reviewer. He says what is good about a game and what he hates in a very funny way. The stupid people dont see it but Yahtzee is one of the few reviewers who is unbiased. I must say it is a refreshing change. Top notch job Mr. Crowshaw (first post, i have to get the general praise in there)

Topic: If you were a m/b illionaire....what game would you want to make?

I would make an RTS/FPS. The idea is it is just an FPS where you can take control of a person in your army. This guy has no special powers or bullet time he is just an average person in the army. It can fail horribly or it can be totally awesome; it just has to be done right. I would choose Big Huge Games (or Rockstar New England) and Monolith. There are at least a couple problems I see with this: the fusion of the two, and the fact that this will eat your processor for breakfast with a side of RAM and still be hungry. I personally would like to be able to go through various ages (the AI could even evolve throughout the ages which means you wouldn't have an organized plan of attack in the ancient ages) but I really cant see the FPS mechanic working with swords. Then again I am a bored billionaire in this scenario, so I can piss away as much money as I would like.

Dissapoint."

Ah well, I still stick to that opinion to this day, "heeheehee" ;D

I'm just not seeing it. I demand proof! Proof I tell you, proof. Your claim of attaining awesominity will forever be in doubt without it.
I don't need to prove it.

Badassery lets you get away with that.

But... I... wait, something just doesn't seem right about that. I called you on it, which means you didn't get away with it. That also means that you can't hold the badassery badge either.

Give me proof, or give me death! Well not death, just a lack of trust. I know what we mean to each other, do you really want to see all that gone because we can't find trust? Do you?

"Dear lord, I didn't think anyone else remembered Beyblade."

I think I was trying to reply to somebody, because that has nothing to do with the OP.

It sounds a lot I know, but it doesn't even look "extreme"
I never really like my first bunch of posts on a new form, so they're never any good or have much effort to them, I dive in and stright back out :)

Also, I joined in March '10 and didn't actually come back to The Escapist and post (and stick around) until Sept '10
