I'm not sure if it was Chrono Trigger or FF6 but I still love both of those games. Tales of Destiny is still my fav in its series as well.
I own that game. That was the Tales game with the talking swords, right?
Yep I own it too, love it and still like playing it.

Hmm, I my first "real" RPG has to be Fable, but I had lot's of RPG's without much RPG moments before that.

I believe my first RPG would be Diablo II. Also the first game I played somewhat hardcore (I played quite a bit, and jumped at any opportunity to play it online, which wasn't all that often seeing as we only had a 56k ISDN at the time). I miss those times. But I'm really excited about Diablo 3, and may invest in a new computer to be able to run it at full graphics.

Septerra Core
Never finished it, never really got very far. But it was fun, and I was 11.

... Now I gotta find a copy of that game and go beat it...

FFVIII, strangely enough. I found the GF linking system to be extremely unintuitive and not very user friendly - don't even get me started on the Draw mechanic. That confused me for so many battles!

However, i stuck with it, i love it, and it's ultimately the game that also got me into the Final Fantasy franchise. I'd probably even say that VIII is my favourite FF game, next to IX, though IX can seem a little too wacky at times, even by Final Fantasy standards.

Star Ocean: The Second Story.

The sequels may have been terrible as far as I am concerned, and may have even killed my interest in JRPG's, but the Second Story is a game I still look upon fondly for the memories that it brought and its (in my opinion) genuinely good quality.
