Either:
See thread ---> Am Interested/have something i'd like to say ---> post inane crap because I'm terrible at getting my words across
OR
See thread ---> See somebody's reply that really pisses me off ---> Try to pick at their logic and have it blow up in my face because a lot of the internets doesn't like logic, they like OPINIONS.

If I don't have anything to say...say something anyway

I've also noticed that the best way to get people to comment on your thread is give them an opertunity to talk about themselves...even something small

Read through the first two pages and see if I can make a pun out of anything.

If I can't, I get frustrated, and angry, and tend to lash out at people who post things I decide to disagree with at the time by antagonizing them.

My procedure
1-Find interesting thread.
2-Read through a few of the comments to see if I am about to enter a flame war.
3-Add my two cents about the matter at hand.
4-Repeat as necessary.

1-Click on thread.
2-Read OP and maybe read through a good number of responses unless it is a very new thread.
3-Get really indecisive about whether what I'm about to say is good to say or not
4-Delete it the majority of the time, but occasionally post to no consequence at all.

I probably overthink a lot about what I'm posting most of the time.

1. Read OP.
2. Read comments.
3. If I feel I can contribute in some fashion to the thread, type a reply.
4. Stare at the reply and wonder if it really is some form of contribution or if it's just hot air.

Then either 5a or 5b:

5(a). Trash the reply.
5(b). Post it and wonder if I actually shouldn't have for a few minutes and maybe make some minor edits to make it slightly better in some fashion. (The latter part of this statement itself being a minor edit. Somehow I find this to be amusing.)

6. Either way, move on.

1.) See thread title, and brace self for opinions within.
2.) Read OP and try to read a majority, if not all, posts within thread.
3.) Be sad, irritated, amused, and/or indifferent.
4.) Type out post.
5.) Read post.
6.) Re-type post.
7.) Read post.
8.) Re-type post.
9.) Read post out loud.
10.) Post the post.

Seems to be the usual for me.

Check to see that there are less than 100 comments and that no one has made the exact point that I plan on making.

...There may be a reason why I have less than 1000 posts. In fact, maybe I shouldn't have commented here either.

Oh, and also:

Space down into a new line even if its not completely necessary, for the sake of flow.

1) Read the OP
2) Do I agree (go to 3) or disagree (go to 6) with them?
3) Is the case as watertight as a mermaid's bra (go to 4) or not (go to 5)?
4) Express agreement, add personal insight
5) Snarkily put some holes in it, cause I hate bad arguments for positions I support
6) Is their case presented in a civil (go to 7) or rude (go to 9) fashion?
7) Is the case as watertight as a mermaid's bra (go to 8) or not (go to 9)?
8) Argue back in a civil fashion
9) Engage in snark-to-snark combat while deconstructing the argument

Step 1: Look for a thread that's interesting and that I actually know something about.

Step 2: Write something I think is witty/funny/informative in the hopes of being quoted, because there's nothing I love more than getting a little quote message in my inbox.

Step 3: No one quotes me.

Recently I've been finding threads that I'm semi-interested in, type out huge essay-length responces, reread them, think about whether I really want to post it and whether any resulting arguement/debate/fight/conversation is worth it. The answer has been 'no' for the most part recently. Then I just move on to the next thread and repete. There's something weirdly theraputic about.

Hey Vault101, I feel like it's been a while since I've seen you on here or it might just be my own hiatus. How have you been.

I don't have one. My posts vary in tone, subject and intelligence depending on my mood. Like after I get home from school its generally pretty apathetic. After a good game its generally positive. If I just spent another weekend doing nothing its kinda moody.

Read thread
Read comments
Find the most smarty-pants sounding one.
Reply to thread with basically the same meaning as the smart one. Just use synonyms of key words to make mine sound original.(Just like doing projects off of Wikipedia.)

1- Enter Forum
2- Check to see if there are any fun topics and weigh the interest I have in the topic versus the number of comments that have already been made on the topic
3- Enter thread
4- Read OP
5- Read all the posts so far
6- See if there is a funny joke I can make, then write that in post box
7- See if there is a funny or insightful reply I can make to one person, then quote them
8- Maybe address OP if I still give a fuck
9- Realize I have yet to embed something, and that goes against my code of honor (as long as the discussion isn't too serious)
10- Insert only mildly relevant image

- Find thread that has been done before
- Make snide comment pointing out that the thread has been done before
- Feel smug and self-satisfied
- Cry

My process is a bit weird, because I scrub 3 our of every 4 replies I intend to make for various reasons.

Read Thread Title (turning point is here on to post or not)
See Thread (Interest has been achieved)
Read Thread (Interest must be maintained or turned into Intrigue)
Read Several Replies (If my point of view was already stated, move on, else begin typing reply)
Typing Reply (20-40% chance of Scrub Reply if point cannot be achieved in words, 60-80% chance of Scrub Reply if issue is too controversial and Neutrality cannot be achieved)
Scrub Reply
Leave Thread
Do Other Stuff
Return to Thread
Read More Replies
Craft Reply (10-15% chance of Scrub Reply on the basis of confusion)
Craft Reply based on OP statement or Links in post (no matter 'the truth' or 'actuality' based on 'science or evidence' my reply is based souly on the OP and the links therein)
1-5% chance of being quoted, if quote is arguementative, restate or clarify my position.
Maintain Neutrality

Don't post often. When I do most of the time I delete said post as I don't want a long drawn out posting-marathon about it.
