Talking to the Council in Mass Effect 2.

"We can't help you that much because your working for Cerberus"

Now this would be the point where I would choose the option that said "ok, I'll stop working for them and work for you." But the game doesn't have this option. Instead I have to accept the following stupid logic:

The Council won't help you that much because you work for Cerberus.
Your working for Cerberus because the Council won't help you.

Now, any person with a shred of common sense will say "Just stop working for Cerberus. That way you can work for the Council. Everyone wins! Well except for Cerberus. But they're a terrorist organization, so screw them."

But no, you have to go along with logic that makes no sense. Because the game says so.
Actually, the logic is more along these lines
Shepard works with Cerberus because the Council won't help
the Council won't help because Shepard works with Cerberus. . .
Oh yeah, they also won't help deal with the REAL bad guys, because they think that Shepard is crazy (not an exaggeration, they actually say something to that effect)
Perhaps, but they put emphasis on the "working with Cerberus" part. Plus with all the proof you have, if they aren't willing to help, they're just too stupid beyond belief. You have video footage of the Collectors, there's a burn mark many football fields long on one colony, plus a plethora of collector pods. You have a Geth following you why says Sovereign wasn't Geth technology(actually, why were they so calm about a Geth following you?). Its just absolutely infuriating. Makes me wonder why I even saved them in the first place.

Probably the main reason why I only play firefight and campaign.

My "OCTFO!" moment was in Mirror's Edge with my bro. We spent almost 2 hours in one single room trying to get to the other side (30 feet) while an entire SWAT team shot at us from every conceivable angle. The average lifespan for us was probably around 4 seconds.

The TV room on Call of Duty 4

Rocket Spam on Ninja Gaiden's harder modes.

Meeting Grace and Glory on Bayonetta for the first time, then mastering fighting them just to be introduced to Gracious and Glorious.

Being stuck in any place that is the equivalent to the Fade from Dragon Age or the Water Temple from Orcarina of Time.

Every AI survivor in Dead Rising. Ever. Attempting to get the achievement where you rescue all 50 is one of the worst achievements I've ever gone after.

Mine is still, and always will be Oblivion. Every time I bring this up, people try and explain it to me, giving me all kinds of bizarre and utterly random reasons for it, but quite frankly, I do not see the logic- without fail, every time I play it, I find myself thinking it.

Yeah, except for that sexy Khajiit chick over there. She's the Archmage, Master of the Fighter's Guild, The Gray Fox and Listener of the Black Hand. She's a knight-errant in Leyawiin, a vampire hunter, there's a fucking statue of her in Bruma. She owns homes in every county, is a Knight of the Nine and is grand champion at the arena. She also pretty much just saved the world.

"Nah... we'll just do without".

Fuck you buddy. I'm going to go beat my maid.
Don't forget if you finished Shivering Isles

OT: I have a couple

First off: Metal Arms, namely the ZombieBot King; use most of your ammo on his body, and then lob a grenade in his mouth similarly to firing a torpedo into an exhaust port on a large, planet destroying weapon. Note that the Grenades are schitzo, Glitch can't throw too well, and there are spawning bad guys that get back up after you get the first grenade in.

Second: Atelier Iris 2, Slaith's Reincarnation can please, PLEASE go die! Stop lowering my defence and spawning those little tards for the love of everything!

Birth by Sleep: Vanitas. Die, please, please KILL YOUR QUICKTIME EVENTS! and I don't want to have to restart the WHOLE fight if I die on the quicktime part.

Peacewalker: Any Custom Boss. I couldn't even do it with the help of a friend, who has better equipment than me. We have damn good equipment.

I was playing Bioshock 2, and a Big Sister had just come by to say "hello". I was about halfway through the battle, which was fantastic, only to accidentally shoot a Big Daddy who was lumbering about nearby... As it happens, the Big Daddy-Big Sister combo is too much to handle. Who would have thought?

Burnout.

The game's difficulty is artificially enhanced after you get to a certain point. For example: Road Rage, where you're meant to take down opponents over a period of time to reach a goal score. After you get an A license (using Paradise City as an example) all the cars in that game mode will start to avoid you until you are in 'damage critical', meaning you lose the event when you crash next. Then, they all aim for no one but you, ignoring all other opponents.

Another example is when they have a race where, if an opponent crashes, their car will careen out of control...straight into yours. Naturally, this would be expected in some occasions, but when I see a car pop into the air, then whip around to the right so it hits my car and knocks me out? We're talking about game-breaking difficulty boosts. This happens with traffic too: Spawning traffic around blind corners so you smash into them, or spawning them in the exact location you're drifting into so you can't avoid them even if you try. Oh and lets not forget the fact the civilian cars will actually break their law-abiding programming to hit you, turning into oncoming traffic themselves to slam head-on into you so you lose the race.

*Takes deep breath* ...yeah. I hate it, with a passion.
I recognise your thumbnail as Okami, but... that face. Please tell me that's not hentai.
OT: FFX. Fucking Chocobo racing.

The only thing that gets me like this is the Hidden Gun in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Multiplayer. Every other ability requires some element of being an Assassin, sneaking up to get maximum points. Gun is just point and grats for the 100 points.

Long thread, don't know if these have been mentioned.

Mass Effect 2: Baby Reaper. Why would the Reapers make a human Reaper when they obviously didn't make Prothean Reapers? It's Chewbacca on Endor, it just doesn't make sense!

Call of Duty Black Ops: Lag. I see myself shooting another player and then I die. Then in the killcam I see me standing there like an idiot waiting to be killed. I'm sure they'll fix it eventually (doesn't happen to me in MW2) but it's frustrating as hell.
Didn't you listen? The Protheans were probably not suitable for the Reapers to make a new Reaper with. Some of the lines Harbinger says suggest this as he comments on a lot of the species in Mass Effect 2, their good and bad qualities and saying whether they're suitable enough.

Hello? The Council don't want to risk war with the groups in the Terminus Systems as it's not Council Space. Cerberus will help you and they can get in the Terminus systems.

But your a Spectre, one person in one ship. You'd just have to report your findings to them, nothing else. Bioware wants us to work with Cerberus, so they make it so. They could have at least handled it better, by giving us the option to tell the Illusive Man to screw himself, go to the Council, find out they can't do much, then go back and grudgingly accept help. Or, like I said somewhere earlier in the thread, make it so I report to the Citadel instead of TIM. They'd just have to change a few conversations(swapping TIM with the Council) and it would have been fine.

The sniper mission in CoD4 at the end(middle?) where you're aiming at zakhaev. You wait, wait some more and finally the wind is down and he is in full view. Breath held, crosshairs on his head, fire the shot and.....you hit his arm.

In Dragon Age where you fight Branka. She alone would destroy my party but she gets 6 stone golems with her. Needless to say, I die. A LOT. About halfway through attempt #15, all of the golems are dead and only one member of my party alive. I pause to heal. I see three Brankas. FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

The majority of my deaths in CoD online. Especialy ones from bastards with second chance/last stand. I would shoot the guy and-. Actually, no. Just thinking about it makes me angry.

Funnily enough, while writing this, my piece of shit computer froze a few times. To which I said OCTFO!

Every game that uses a compass to show where you need to go but dosen't feel like telling you if the target is above or below you. Im talking to you Fallout.... and World of Warcraft.

Doors that should open but dont, and you walk in to them and stand there stupidly for a couple a seconds and curse at yourself for trying..... is this just a me thing or...

Anytime a new Cod comes out I facepalm
