Your gaming predictions for 2011

I just finished watching this video from Screw Attack where they made predictions for the coming year in gaming.

So, that got me thinking, what do you predict for this year in gaming? It can be anything, something outlandish or something you honestly think will happen, but hasn't been announced yet.

If you watched the video, I can say that I honestly hope number 1 becomes a reality. (Nintendo unveils a new console for the hardcore crowd, it has connectivity with the Wii, and it secures Nintendo's complete domination over the galaxy game market.)

I also believe that number 3 will become a reality as well. (Sonic 4 episode 1 displeased fans, so Sega cancels all planned episodes of Sonic 4 and instead continues to whore him out in crappy brand recognition cash-ins)

I predict that the success of Mass Effect 3 will be short lived, as Bioware will either announce Dragon Age 3 or a new IP... or KotOR 3 or Jade Empire 2. That's not to say Mass Effect 3 will be overlooked, it just means that Bioware will continue to keep on chugging as they put out more and more games as they get rebranded into EA RPGS. EA soon buys out every other western RPG developer intigrating them into EA RPGs. Soon EA RPGs begins it's domination over JRPGs by buying out Square Enix.
I'll spare you the rest, suffice to say that EA will eventually conqure the world and make us worship the all powerful Madden. The dark times shall not be far behind.

Star Wars: The Old Republic has the greatest chance of stealing WoW addicts. Guild Wars 2 will be phenomenal, but under-appreciated by the masses addicted to WoW.

MvC3 will begin it's domination the fighter genre for the next few years.

Minecraft will get more awesome.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Arkham Asylum 2 will be two of the chief GOTY competitors.

And I will continue making completely obvious statements.

SW:ToR will be amazing and break WoW's control of the MMO market.

Minecraft will be get even more addicting and fun.

Skyrim will be much better than New Vegas.

Mass Effect 3 will be the greatest thing ever made by Bioware and the greatest addition to Human civilization ever.

Duke Nukem will be fun but not amazing.

Arkham will be an improvement on the first game and up there on GoTY charts.

those are my predictions and I bet I will be proven wrong on nearly every one.

Skyrim, like Oblivion before it, will create a huge amount of idiot fanboy rage but will still be a hugely playable game regardless.

Infinity Ward will get over themselves and make Modern Warfare 3. It'll be total crap, like the last one.

Final Fantasy XIII will be great, then overshadowed by the announce, and coming hype of Final Fantasy XV, much like Tactics and VII almost 15 years ago.

People will complain that Dragon Age 2 isn't an RPG because it has a dialogue wheel (I don't like said inclusion, but I'm not going to cry myself to sleep about it) and gameplay that isn't based 100% around micromanagement.

Everyone from Britain in Mass Effect 3 will either have a bad cockney accent or a bad scottish accent.

Mass Effect 3 will be the single greatest achievement in human history.

Duke Nukem forever actually does shit diamonds and do your laundry.

Modern Warfare 3 is a massive success that somehow everyone likes. The Escapist goes down due to lack of users that complain about the series.

On a more serious note, Brink will be fantastic.

Minecraft will get more awesome. Twisted Metal and Disgaea 4 will be awesome as well. Warhammer 40K Online: Dark Millenium will be a solid relase, but fail to attract the massive group of retards known as WoW players.

Everything else will suck an illegal amount of dick.

When the next CoD game comes out, people will sing its praises for a week before they all bash it for no reason on the interwebz.

Most ever game I'm excited for, that I haven't already lost interest in due to greedy developers, will be a let down. There will probably be some underrated or indie title that will be amazing though...

I predict that mainstream gaming will continue to be mostly mediocre, albeit tolerable, with a few particularly stinky piles of shit and maybe one or two shining gems. Possibly three.
Indie gaming will continue to be unique and often pretentious beyond what it deserves, but nonetheless interesting.

I predict that every eagerly anticipated sequel will significantly improve it's respective series by excelling in all categories.

Mass Effect will improve on none of 2's many flaws, because Bioware is making gobs and gobs of money as it is.

1) the game that's gets most of the "mainstream" hype, awards, and sales will be another generic FPS.

2) Madden will add a couple features to the game (most are side-steps, rather than steps forward). Meanwhile, NHL continues to develop well.

3) the mainstream media will continue to act like Rapelay is a popular game that every gamer has, buried under their copies of "School Shootings for dummies.

4) I'll probably end up buying half the games I think I'll do now.

5) I'll continue to hate myself for buying a Kinect.

6) I'll continue to tell myself that eventually a game will come along that genuenly excites me when I play it, refreshing my joy in gaming.

7) the excitement of owning a new game will continue to disappear within the first 3 hours of owning a game.

8) I'll end up buying atleast 4 games that I'll regret buying very quickly.
