Finding all the rings and thus reaching the final boss in Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins. I refuse to use a walkthrough, and the way of finding hidden treasures in the game is just annoying: You have to pass a certain spot in the level for a treasure chest to appear. Just any random spot! Considering how hard the game already is, I just get frustrated replaying levels and passing some random areas I recall I've never "touched".

I rather just keep inching my way through Demon's Souls right now, thanks.

Ugh. I remember grinding away at the original on the NES. That game drove me insane but I finally beat it. So freaking hard.

I love being able to good-heartedly talk shit with people while we blast each other into next week. Why does "Dude, did you see the way your body FLEW?" always have to come across to people as an insult to people? Especially if their body literally popped into the air and flew over a railing.
Indeed.
This is what online gaming should be like in my opinion, and it is the reason why I despise the term "competitive multiplayer" and the concept behind it; I, like every other functional human being in the world, compete with people all day long in one way or another, and the stakes can be quite high - it's what we do. However, when I'm at home and playing a game with people online, I want to have fun, not be frustrated from not being top dog on the list of K/D ratios. There are occasions when the group you play with are like-minded and can still enjoy themselves even if they suck at the game, but most of the time it turns into trading hurtful barbs over something that is essentially even more meaningless than winning an argument on an internet forum. "Competitive" is a word with an aggressive edge, and a lot of folks get sucked into it, all the while forgetting that a game is supposed to be fun, not work. (I know, the two don't necessarily have to be mutually exclusive, but I stand by my point.)

Excellent. Two emotions for the price of one. Where else do you get that kind of deal nowadays?
Two emotions? When a cheating girl friend rips your hear out and you realize you are better off without her (HAPPY) but you're still alone now (sad)

I've tried that game a couple of times, and while the UGnG on PSP is pretty brutal on today's standards, it just can't compare to the NES original when it comes to difficulty.

The red dragon from golden axe.
He shot fireballs and only appeared in, like, one level.
We'd always scramble away from our fight with skeletons and assorted bad guys to reach it.
But it would always run away.

Beating every single level in all Marathon games on Maximum Carnage.

..But you YOUNGSTERS probably don't know what Marathon is, damn you -shakes fist-
Marathon was a series Bungie did before Halo. It's graphics were in the style of some of the first generation shooters, like doom.

I'm 15 by the way! Take that grandpa! Fine, I'll get off your lawn!

OT: my gaming unicorn? Getting Stalker S.o.C. to work on my pc. Had to go into the fucking binaries and figure out how to change the direct x settings.
..Well played, sir.

May I ask why you even played such an old game, or came in contact with it?

I'm really into retro games. Street Fighter 2 is still my favorite game of all time.
I came in contact with Marathon by hearing about it on a podcast. Later, tried the demo on xbla.

Grand Master Galaxy in SMG 2, daredevil comet, which you must do without getting hit once.

Bleh.

I've come all this way though, so I'll probably finish it, just to get that last bloody star.

My gaming unicorn is consistently beating spammers on Marvel vs Capcom 3, but unlike actual unicorns, I'm catching this ************ if it's the last thing I do. Before all is said and done, spammers online will know of their inadequacies as players when I punish them for their faggotry.

I'm doing a perfect path in Record of Agarest War...all events seen and all CGs unlocked in a single playthrough when normally you need about 3 of them.

Disgaea Hour of Darkness is the game and the weapon is called Yoshitsuna

Right to obtain this weapon you have to go through 100 increasingly difficult battles to level up the rarest body item (Testament)
Now each of these battles gets increasingly difficult from around level 100 to well look at the picture level 9999. I managed to do it in about 25 hours but it's been a while so it could take longer
Now once you get to level 100 you have to fight very difficult enemies all 9500+ and then you get to the item God
Once you get to the item God you have to steal his weapon which has a 10% chance of succeeding. Now once you do this you have to kill the God but you get the single most powerful blade in the game

Even then I think you have to level it up by going through the item world to level 100 but I can't remember if you can do that or not

What a game
That's one of the reasons I stopped playing Disgaea.
So much grinding.

Finishing Amnesia- The Dark Descent.

The unicorn as you should know is a one horned horse that is said to be neigh impossible to capture.
Is that a typo or a horse pun?

OT: I'd go with that Unicorn in Oblivion (I named him "Pointy") I caught him once, and later he attacked me and ran away. I have no idea where to find him again. Sort of a literal interpretation, but it's true.
Wait what? There was an actual unicorn in that game?
*fires up Oblivion*

If you like RTS, I can warmly recommend Myth-series, also by Bungie. Great story and immersion in the game-world aswell.

But it was so good grinding, towards the end I had put in well over 800 in total and 500 hours on one save but I had that blade and I did 2.9 billion damage (I think or it might have been 2.9 million) it was over 4 years ago and the only reason I stopped was because the disc broke :/
