Today I caught the flu, and my housemate got really drunk and punched the wall, breaking his hand, meaning we had to drive him to hospital. It took us an hour to find, we didn't have enough money to pay for parking, so we went to McDonalds to eat...where my card was promptly declined for an incorrect pin. My housemate didn't bring his wallet so we went hungry, and I now have 8p to live off for the entire week.

So what's the worst day you've ever had, or most interesting tale of misfortune that you know? And does it eclipse this?

Fast roping accident that screwed up my knee and put an end to my Marine Corps career. Now I have to get certified to start my own security business and start all over again. 6 years and an unknown amount of taxpayer dollars wasted on crappy food and millions of rounds of ammunition (plus 4 rockets and however much it costs to radio in Cobra support)
