to all you rockers i say unto thee
who are your guitar god,s, your knights of the mighty riff,
those daring dashing men (and women in some cases) that can set your soul a flame with the 6 strings of of the soul (or twelve strings)

mine would be slash from GnR
the man knows how to make a riff sound amazing, i true string smith
followed closely joe perry from aerosmith, Mick mars from motley crew
and of corse the classic, irrefutable sound of mister Jimi Hendrix

so i ask you oh dudes and dudettes of rock

who are your guitaring heros ??

Buckethead -
He's so hard working (he's released close to 30 solo studio albums and has collabborated on probably double that number). His music is also really diverse, he has something for everybody to enjoy. Plus, man can SHRED!!!

Paul Waggoner -
Have you seen him play live?!?! The man is ridiculously precise, never misses a note and his tone is perfect. Plus he's in one of my favourite bands.

Marty Friedman -
Played guitar on (probably) my favourite album of all time, Rust in Peace. Tornado of Souls has THE best solo ever and there isn't a weak track on the album. Plus he's a japanophile and I've always had a fascination with the country

Well, I'd have to say Tom Morello, of Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave. As soon as he plays, you know instantly who it is. I can't think of anyone with a similar style (though I could be wrong).
Also, Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin.

Both Jimi Hendrix and Slash are excellent I'm going to add Eddie Van Halen all three guys are very good.

But my all time favorite and my "best" award go to a three way tie between Sully Erna, Tony Rombola and Robbie Merrill from Godsmack. I've seen them perform live three times and the song Vampires is f'ing amazing every time.

Claudio Sanchez is the most visionary musician alive, in my opinion, and thus, is the greatest musician alive.
