Your Hairstyles

I just posted on a thread about hair product which got me thinking about my hair and how fairly radically and often I change my style. So I thought I'd ask what different hairstyles members of the Escapist have had over the course of their lives

Me personally, as a kid in primary school always just had short back and sides, simple, no product, cos I really didn't care
When I was 13 I started growing it. By 16 my hair was just past my shoulders
At 17 I cut it off and got an 'emo sweep fringe thing' and dyed it blonde
At 18 I grew it out, once again reaching my shoulders
I then radically cut it all off and had it short and punky
Then I grew it out, dyed it blonde. Shortly after I dyed it black with a blonde streak
Then I decided to get a mohawk, shaved the sides and stuck it up. It was about 3 inches long
I then got a buzzcut and now my hair is back to being natural brown and spikey and I think I'm going to start growing it out yet again

So Escapist, what different hairstyles/lengths/colours have you had over the years?

I had very plain, short hair for a while, then I tried to be emo and grew it rather long.

I got bored of that so then I got a buzz cut and I've stuck with that till now. It's much more convenient. Always my natural, black hair.

I've always just let it do what it wants, until recently, when I started using a little bit of wax to stop it lying completely flat.

Ahh Zacky Vengeance, what an absolute legend! Yeah this is what my hair looked like at about 17

Dark brown with black streaks is my natural colour. People made fun of me when I was little so up until recently I'd dye it reddish brown every 1-2 months. My hair was long (middle of my back) but when I was 9 my Aunt asked me to cut it so I could match my little sister for her wedding. (My sister had a bowl cut)When I was 12 I went though stages of depression and every time I became sad or angry I'd take it out on my hair and cut it short. So through High school I cycled between chin/shoulder length and cropped. I'm 20 now and have been trying to grow it out again, it's about 2 inches from the center of my back again.

Up until I was about... 12, it was "Number 4 blade" all over. Maybe "4 back 'n' sides, scissors on the top," but that was it. I started growing my hair longer for a bit, but whatever way my head is shaped, it looks like someone plonked a mop down on my head and glued the ends to my ears. So, I'm currently keeping it fairly short, but still enough to be able to grab a hold of. Sometimes I have to use Brylcream after I get out of the shower, cos my hair is too straight, so I use it to muss it up a bit. I've had that kind of look for about 2 and a half years now.

For visual comparison, I'm told it looks like Ian Curtis' hair:

I've always had long hair, well 95% of the time. I usually just wake up and go about the daily business, no fixing or preeming, as long as my hairs not sticking up everywhere then I'm fine.
I belive the style is called "scruffy bugger", or at least thats what my mum calls it.

I'm not going to go into detail of every style I've had.

Right now, mine is just a little past my shoulders, but it's usually half way down my back, or to my waist. It's almost always down, because I look awful with a pony tail or anything like that.

I've been working on a loose curl for the summer. My hair is wild and a bit past my shoulders.

I rocked the bleached bowl, dark sides in middle school. It's embarrassing in retrospect.

Just got nice clean blend these days, about an inch over the forehead. Sort of parted in the middle, looks quite nice if I "wet look" it with a dab of conditioner.

No bangs, but I'm thinking of going Kurama. Whatever looks best on me.
