So I've been re-reading George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series for the third time in preparation for the HBO Series and the new book coming out in July (Sqeeee). If you have ever read A Game of Thrones, you would know that Martin love to describe heraldry for each of the houses that play a role in the books, Some of the bigger ones have had their motto mentioned.

This got me thinking, what would my heraldry and motto be? I settled on a red bear on a gray field with a black and yellow stripe running diagonally across it, and my motto would be "Fear no man"

So what would yours be? Feel free to invent one or just use one that you know you already have, I for example would have the heraldry of either Clan Campbell [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Clan_member_crest_badge_-_Clan_Campbell.svg] or Clan Rose [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Clan_member_crest_badge_-_Clan_Rose.svg] were I using my actual heraldry.

My family's already got one, cant find any pictures of it i like so I'll just describe it. It's got a golden cross from corner to corner of a sheild on a green background with daggers( swords if i want to sound cooler) on the left and right and lizards( Salamanders if ya wanna stretch it) on the top and bottom.

The banner though would just have a green lizard with a knife in it. we don't have a family motto, But I imagine it would be something like "We hate lizards".

If I Had to make one up though I'd probably keep the green colour scheme and put a Big black dog standing tall and proud. Motto being "loyalty to the end of days"

Apparently my family motto is "While I watch I am safe." GROOVY! but the site said that my family crest was 3 black dudes staring to the left, which is funny because I'm the whitest guy ever. I don't think its ours at all, my dad has our actual crest on an ornament thing in our living room. When I get home this weekend I will check it out.

I have two coat of arms! This is because I'm half Japanese with samurai ancestors and half caucasian with German ancestors.
My German coat of arms presumably looks like: http://www.coats-of-arms.com/Kiefer%20coat%20of%20arms.htm
The Japanese Kamon for the Sakai family is illustrated as my avatar. It's rather interesting that both sets of insignias have a flower like pattern in them...

Sounds pretty cool, now described in official heraldic language (probably wrong, but I'll give it a shot): saltire in Or on vert, sword in quadrant dexter and sinister, Salamander (not sure what the heraldic label for them would be??) in quadrant superior and inferior.

Always sounds rather funky when described that way, not sure why I think like that.

OT: Don't have one, pity. But wouldn't mind something along the lines of:
