I probably have the most boring homepage ever. about:Blank. All it is is a blank page, which I find really helps speed up the opening process of the browser. Then, i use my bookmarks bar to go wherever I want.
I don't think your avatar is going to live a long life. And my homepage is google, I'm sad to admit it was just the Runescape homepage at one point in my life.

iGoogle, I keep a lot of my feeds there, so that's pretty handy, plus google is good for finding the porn when I need it.

<3 Google.

(does that count as advertising? :p)

To everyone who uses google or a search engine for their homepage : If you run firefox you can get a plugin called "add to search bar" where you can add any website to the search bar. I have almost everything in there.

I've made wikipedia my homepage as I actually like it for it' "In the news" section. I would go to an actual news webpage but I can't be bothered to deal with all the ads.

The best, most reliable news source anywhere.
It's always nice to start things off with a laugh. Like when I got on my computer a few weeks back and saw the headline "Tiger Woods Announces Return to Sex"

It's the default Firefox/Google thing. It fits my needs nicely. I keep my other more often visited links just underneath the adress bar so the Escapist and the BBC etc. are just a single click away.

It's convenient, and Firefox defaulted me to it.

Google.

Because that's what it was in my childhood, and anyone who tries to move me from my ways is a horrible person.
Ditto. My dad always had my Google set as the homepage when I was a kid, I expect it.
