Your Idea For a Sitcom?

I pitched one in my Media Writing class called "How You Play The Game". Basically, it's two guys (Bruce - the ex-high-school linebacker with a diploma in 3-D modelling and Ashley - a lazy artist and programmer) and two girls (Lila - extremely sarcastic part-time burger-flipper and enthusiastic writer and Alana - gymnast, animator and stage musical freak) studying a games degree at uni and the wacky stuff that happens to them. For instance:

- Bruce's cross-dressing 21st
- Ashley's failed attempts to get and keep a job
- Lila's commentary on the stupid people who come through her workplace
- Alana's cross-country trek to see her favourite performer
- Lila's ineptitude at programming
- Bruce's terrible written assignments
- Alana's horrible time management
- Ashley's inability to stay focused

...etc.

It could work.

Okay. I've got a couple of ideas, here.

The first is a show inspired by that Flogging Molly song "worst day since yesterday." Simply put, it's about a guy living in Dublin who has absolutely terrible luck- helicopters fall on his apartments building, his favorite pub is constantly frequented by terrorists (and the cops who seem to incessantly raid the place), his boss is a boorish guy who runs his office with an iron fist, his best friend is a prick, His car's a piece of shit, his dad hates him and his mom's incessantly dissapointed in him, and Jesus Christ, his life sucks. However, he's in love with a girl who does have some bad luck, but seems to just glide by the trouble. He's fallen in love with her, and is willing to do anything to be her boyfriend... But he's got plenty of competition in that area, especially from people much luckier than he.

The second is about a guy who can see spirits. This guy is an ex-Marine, now working a boring office job and living in a regular apartment. As a way to stave the poredom of his life, he started his own little online business, where you can ask him to deal with various evil creatures and stuff (usually, the process just involves talking them into leaving, or beating them up until the excuse themselves). This has attracted the attention of a young writer of the paranormal who lives a few blocks from his apartment. She begins to hang out with him to gain inspiration for her novels, until one day she tags along on a job. However, it turns out Satan himself (who in here is a handsome young man with tanned skin and horns in an expensive suit) was summoned this time, and in the crossfire of arcane energy, the writer was hit. To save her life, the Marine gave her some of his own life-force. She's fine... but now she can see the spirits, just like him. So, it's about those two dealing with those creatures all around them. Satan is a main character, who usually mooches off of the Marine. For example, when the Marine wins the lottery, Satan tries to borrow it so he can buy out a valuable company and then drive it into ruin, causing pain and suffering in the land.

A group of aliens posing as a modern family in the suburbs of god knows where. The thing is, to be able to better assimilate themselves into human society, they all try and understand human culture and pick up their cues from there. Mom watched "The Brady Bunch", dad watched Tarantino films, their son used 4chan as his reference, and their daughter used Twilight. Hilarity ensues.

I've always imagined something like The Office, but during/after a Zombie outbreak. It would follow a group of people trying to stay alive in a Costco they've converted into an anti-zombie stronghold.

The whacky life of a dwarfed person. Except nobody ever makes any dwarf/midget jokes. He just lives a somewhat ordinary life with seemingly ordinary friends. Usual sort of jokes stereotypes involved in any sitcom, but no midget jokes.

A reality tv show called "self respect" or "dignity" pitting a plethora of ex strippers, call girls ,and actress wanna be's against one another for the chance of dating a d-list celebrity.
