I like the idea of the breakdown of all telecommunications, and the subsaquent collapse of society. Me and my friend actualy have a plan for this situation.

Honestly id love to be around when our galaxy colides with Andromeda. Who knows what sort of bizzare space-time things will happen then, but id love to witness it.
That actually sounds very awesome, at least we'd have something kick ass to watch while we go out.

mine would deffintaly have to be somewhere along the lines of either a massive explosion or me killing all the happy little monsters of a nuck fallout.

i might even enjoy a fight to the death with the devil.

Prefrably an apocalyps that doesn't bother me, i don't like it when something ruins my plans for world domination.

Mass virus, like I am legend. That would be awesome, because it has zombies, illness, and in order for the human race to survive, you need to breed. Hell yeah.

I'm a big fan of the 'Invasion of the Bikini Babes with Beer' apocalypse.

No, seriously: if there is going to be an apocalypse, it's probably going to be a mass die off from a virus or something, ala The Stand.
The stand is the first thing i thought of when i saw this thread and then you say that in the fourth post... damn

Oh well then i shall follow close behind with another stephen king novel/series. The Tower. I want to be a gunslinger.

An outbreak of hot, beautiful women who smother men with affection and eventually kill them with kisses...Whoa,what were we talking about again?

But,seriously,an outbreak of something quick and painless would be better than, say, ebola,I guess...

I want to see all of Ozzy Osbourne's songs come true; werewolves, Iron Man, a Crazy F'ing Train, and Mr. Crowley. Except We've got guns.

The Mad Maxx "oh shit we ran out of gasoline" Apocalypse seems the most likely and may happen in my lifetime. No gasoline means no electricity, and we all know how people behave after a few days of that. Complete breakdown of the social structure, no law enforcement, no medical aid, absolute fucking anarchy. If this ever happens I think 80 percent of the population will perish within a few months leaving the rest of us here to pick up the pieces. Humanity on earth will be forever changed and hopefully know to do it better next time.

Check out the novel "Dies the Fire" by Stirling if this subjust appeals to you.

The giant government doom robot attack. Tin foil hat people would all simultaneously shout "I told you so!!!!!!!!!!!"

Or an apocalypse where top hats take over and rule the earth using humans as hosts for intelligent conversations.

Wiis turn out to be Skynet and annihilate all casual gamers and 90% of the world's population. The hardcore gaming master race emerges from their well prepared doom bunkers stocked with bags of Cheetoes and Balls energy drinks in hand to rebuild society.

What is your ideal apocalypse? Giant spiders, fallout three like conditions, sipping on a beach and sipping tea as the world blows apart? tell us today!
My ideal apocalypse:

WWIII Starts. China, Russia, N Korea VS USA, Europe, India, and Australia. Nukes are dropped equal to 100's of Hiroshimas per blast. 100's of millions die within the first few days.

The over-arching consciousness from which we all came from and will return to upon death sends a mass telepathic message to the entire human race saying that we've strayed from the path of transcending our planet as a single entity, and will start over on another planet, in another galaxy.

Then we all fall limp to the ground as the spark of our consciousness rejoins ethereal nirvana. Animals and plants continue living as usual.

Maybe someday if we ever find Earth again we'd see what left behind millions/billions of years later. If anything remains, that is.

This. Just simply the best apocalypse ever. What's more epic than:
reality itself ending?
