Suppose that a manufacturer of your choice has decided to let you design their next console or make a new venture into the market. What would you make? (note, no smartarse replies saying consoles suck)
I'd go for a new Sega console with Samsung technology.
Powerful but stable AMD graphics card and dual core CPU.
4GB versatile RAM.
Efficient cooling system including decent fan and heatsink.
Blu-ray capable, but games can be either DVD or blu-ray.
Small HDD, 4GB flash memory cards for save games.
Controller is vaguely based on the dreamcast except much more ergonomical + wireless, with a second analogue stick. In place of the VMU/VGA slot would be a solid touch screen.
Overall size comparable to the large PS2, thanks to cutting down on non-gaming features. Sure it can play dvds, music, etc, but that isn't important.
