Any Irish rock/metal. Then you know it's going to be a fight scene.

A lot of music from Xenoblade works for this, but three in particular:

And some other ones:
Especially towards the end, when the Reach Out to the Truth part comes in.

Lost Horizon - Highlander (The One) 10min and 30sec and onwards. If you know of it, you know there's nothing more epic. If you don't, you're about to have your beard grow another beard shaped like a fist clenching a sword.

I'll have to say this one.

It just fits with everything.

Driving, flying, lock-and-loading.

But my second pick would be this.

"Shoot to Thrill" is a great choice. I like to go with "Unsung" by Helmet, "Jesus Christ Pose" or "Blow Up The Outside World" by Soundgarden. Also, "Walk" by Pantera always works.

The old classics still work for me sometimes:

I also came across these during my time in England:

These two I heard in GMod videos a few years ago:

Hard to say as there are many "It's time to kick ass" music. I suppose for the time being, I will choose this-
This was played with Minato form an counter attack against Tobi/ Mandara/ Orbito and he could of had defeated him too if it weren't for Nine tail rampage.

Also I throwng in this one too cos is it badass especially the scene the music was used on!

You said it yourself, *****: we're te Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Avengers is also one that only answers to one:

Namely to a Fully Realized Avatar:

So there you go. Pick one

My thoughts were "these are now old enough to be called old classics?"

I now officially feel old.

OT:No thread like this is complete without the theme song of Duke Nukem himself, especially this version!

Well the first thing I thought of was The Trooper by Iron Maiden but then I saw some anime posts and that made me think outside the box so here:

It's a little bit "on the nose", but when I am having trouble winning a race in a game, I like to play Motley Crue's Kickstart My Heart. It always gets me in a kick-ass racing mindset.

I kinda dig Sexual Panic from Witchblade.
Mega Man also gets me hyped.

I've always found the theme from Brutal Sports Football on the Amiga to have a certain unique thrill to it:

Play it nice and loud with a lot of bass. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Gets you all pumped up to destroy people. I think if I was ever a martial artist, that would be my walk-in music :| :| :| :|

Though honourable mention to the theme from Speedball 2:

Similar concept... similar game... music also by the late Richard Joseph. RIP ;'(

This song stands heads and shoulders over everything else when it's time to lay down the law:
