What ratio would be considered ideal? If I happen to play those types of games, it's usually the campaign at best, so I have no concept of this ratio. I imagine my number of deaths would exceed my kills :D.

COD4 was 2.20. WaW was 3.80 in the Beta, and I think 2.40 in the actual game. MW2 is 2.40 or around that area. I only know them because the game glorifies them. I don't think they mean much in general, mine are quite representative of me because I run around all the time, so to maintain a 2+ ratio with little camping is quite good, but you can achieve the same ratio by sitting in a corner with an M16 all game, which requires half the effort, if any at all. I don't use "cheap" weapons to do well, although I do get a lot of hate mail for being good at running n' gunning, apparently that's a cheap way to kill people. Like I care anyway, it's the most fun.

The best ratio I've got and I'm actually proud of is 9.30, which was on UT3 Deathmatch. The worst was like 0.1, which was on UT2004 Assault. I played a lot of trials which involved no killing whatsoever (apart from some maps that rarely got voted) and a lot of deaths, mainly suicides if you miss a jump. I think I killed myself over 5000 times.

They really don't mean much though in objective games, the guy who wins the game isn't necessarily the guy with the best ratio. I wish people would fucking learn that.

K/d means nothing to me so long as I am top and my balls are in the corpses of my foes I am happy...er...Forget I said that, my k/d is generally pretty good and in the positive most matches until people start laming it up with launchers, acr's and umps. Roll with fal, 2000 l86 or mp5k keeping it sweet.

Earlier I had a kd of 17/1 (tdm (moshpit) h/core) and 12/0 (snd (moshpit) h/core).

Can't be chewed to fire up to mw2 too work out my overall kd on it my cod4 kd was damn fine too.

I miss pam 4 :( Pro mod is crap...

CoD WAW is around 1.9, MW2 is around 1.3

I think they used to matter more to me but I really do not care about them nowadays, I care more about my Halo: Reach K/D. I used to get into arguments all the time with my friend who thought Accuracy meant more then K/D.

Mines sitting at around 1.34 and 1.31 (use 2 accounts) on MW2, and 1.29 on KZ2.

Typically it can be adjusted by simply the style of play or game mode, I can go 30/0 or i can go 28/29. it doesn't really matter but my OCD wants to have it above 1.
wow looking at a necro'd thread, anyway i've pushed my kd to 2.7 now, but a 1.5 w/l which is dissappointing to me :(.

I usually have a positive ratio in my multiplayer games, it isn't hugely in my favor, but its usually alright.

Halo 3,
Ranked:1:06
Social:1:15

Halo Reach,
Competitive:1:03
Invasion:1:30

Those are the only games I know how to check.

Generally my Team Fortress 2 K / D / A {Thats Kill/Death/Assist}
Is about 5 / 3 / 3.
I play as Pyro[not w+m1], Soldier, Sniper and Spy[In THAT order] ^-^
What does w+m1 mean? I have seen people say it but do not know what it means.

OT: Its been a long time since Ive checked my K/D ratio in any game, all I know is that my deaths are higher than my kills. As long as im having fun thats all that matters.

MW2: 2.2.
Highest of all my friends without boosting. I am fairly impressed with myself. I rarely ever camped, used different guns, barely used n00b tubes, only used danger close for 2 prestiges, never even touched OMA, and rarely tac-knifed.
It was a tough climb. CoD4, was kinda low, 1.4 or so, WaW was like 1.6 or 1.7. I'm hoping Black Ops will see me hit 2.5+

CoD4: 1.21
WaW: I don't remember. It was slightly above negative.
MW2: 1.26

I don't REALLY care what my K/D is, as long as I keep it positive.

1.49 K/D ratio right now and steadily rising, but I have picked my game up and usually go 2:1 on most games. My problem is I have something 61000 to 41000 so it takes like 300 to 400 kills to get anywhere.

MW2 was about 3 point something, until I started not caring anymore and just playing for fun. It dropped to about 1 point something.

MW2 is 1.77. I only know because my friends use my leaderboard rank(formerly 4xxx) and my K/D to talk trash to the other team.

No noobtubing, marathon, lightweight, commando, UMP45, explosives(except sometimes a frag or C4 but very rarely), and no camping. No thermal snipers either. Mainly a FAL, F2000, WA2000, M9, and a throwing knife.

My K/D fluctuates when I screw around with the shield.

It really entirely depends on the game and the classs - in TF2, if I'm a heavy, my K/D ratio is something like 6-7 kills to every death (that is, at the end of the match I've wrapped up about 60-70 kills to 10 deaths). If I'm a spy, it's usually 0.7.

In BC2, it hovers at about 1-1.2 no matter which class I'm playing, as my playstyle is usually pretty similar in getting quite close to the enemy, which means I still end up dead a lot.

My kill/death ratio?

Well, lessee, I'm watching the end credits, so I beat the game (any game), assuming there is a boss(-es), I've presumably beaten them without dying.

So......X/0. (Where X is the number of people I've had to kill to beat the game).

Good enough for me.

If we don't count the insects, my kill/death ratio is 0/0. Oh, you were talking about CoD. Um, I haven't played that game for like a year so, beats me!

I don't consider it reliable, as half the time I'm just doing random stuff like trying to only no scope, only knife, or just hide at the bomb and defuse it in mw2 because that game gets boring and makes me very, very angry very, very quickly. My sister also occasionally plays and consistently gets about 3-18.
Even with all that, it's 1.56 in mw2, and about .96 in cod4, but I've gotten better at cod4.
codwaw can go die, the only reason I have it is for nazi zombies.

In CS:S, my KDR was 1:100. After I scored my kill by randomly firing a shotgun after being flashbanged, I realized that I was so incompetent I should simply go back to other games.

In TF2, my KDR is around 1.5 (counting assists) but much higher, at least double, for Engineer and Heavy. How sad that I'm best at playing the 2 most boring classes.

In Left 4 Dead games, I'm certain my KDR is in the hundreds, if not thousands. Zombies die easily.

I used to kick ass at Battlefield: 1942, and had an obscenely high KDR. I once had 200 kills and no deaths in a match on Omaha Beach (Nazi artillery was OP on that map).

Obviously, my best KDR would be in single-player games.

Lately, I haven't been killed in Prototype for quite a while, so my KDR for the past 2 months would be about 10,000:0.

In Oblivion, I have a character with over 1000 kills that has never died.

In Dead Rising, I killed 100,000 zombies in a run that only included 1 death. After that, I was simply sick of the game and stopped playing.

Obviously, it's not as impressive. But now I wonder about the possibility of an online game where thousands fight to take down a single player with god-like powers, and how impressive it would be to kill that player.

I don't actually care for the K/D ratio, just the amount of kills. I do like to keep track of it (for the duration of one game that is, might remember one or two here or there if they were extraordinary) but it's not my main goal, my main goal is to do.. well whatever the main goal is, you know, cap flags, plant bombs, defend a point, game objectives.

It's just a small personal guilty pleasure of looking at it and thinking "hehe my number is bigger than that guy's number - awesome". An excuse for a grin and feeling good about yourself ^^
