I have two basic loadouts depending on what's available or what the rest of the team is using. The first one is an assault rifle, either the SCAR or AK47 depending on how I feel. I'll back this up with a katana or axe. The other loadout I like is an autoshotgun (any type will do) and a Magnum.

Of course, if a grenade launcher or a chainsaw shows up, I'll be more than happy to take that.

Primary: Sniper Rifle. It adds an extra challenge to the game, mainly by not allowing you to spray-and-pray.

Secondary: Katana. It gives me the vague feeling of being Bruce Willis in Pulp Fiction.

Explosive: Boomer Bile. Gives those zombies a taste of their own medicine!

Equipment: Med-Kit (I always deploy special ammo immediately) and pills.

Primary: Hunting Rifle. I focus on killing Special Infected, and the Hunting Rifle can do so easily. I also prefer it overt the Miltiery Sniper Rifle. I don't know why though.

Secondary: Any melee weapon, but I prefer the Crowbar and Nightstick. For dealing with zombies that get to close.

Grenade: Pipe Bomb, for obvious reasons.

Booster: Adrenaline. I don't usually use it for running, but rather for dire situation in which several teammates are downed or heavily wounded. Adrenaline makes reviving and healing much easier.

Just give me a Magnum and i'll be happy. But in all seriousness it's always a Magnum+Grenade launcher when I can get it, scoped military rifle when I cant.

You can see from my stats I have a bit of "a thing" for the Magnum....

I play as Nick. I like grabbing a spas(?) shotgun and a fireaxe. I take pipebombs, adrenaline and a medkit. Unless I'm playing with bots or it's the only thing left to grab I always prefer medkits over the defribilators.

You double posted by the way.

I go for an AK47 and a Katana, or a chainsaw when I can get it.

If only for the purpose of running into a crowd, yelling "Who's laughing now? WHO'S LAUGHING NOW?!?!? AAAAAAAAAAAARGGGHHH!!!!"

Cookie for the easy reference.
It's evil dead 2.

M16A2, Desert Eagle, Molotov, health kit and pills.

I've found that the M16 is an excellent all-around weapon in L4D2. Decent target penetration and excellent accuracy means I can take that Hunter off your face at three hundred feet. The DE is a good weapon to have if you're downed and need to get hordes off your case, or just don't feel like shooting Common Infected three or four times with a handgun.

I would love the SCAR-H a lot more if it weren't permanently set to burst-fire. I can do my own three-round bursts, thank you very much.

Equipment for mid to close range fighting:
AK-47 for the main gun, the power/fire rate/clip size are really good because it only takes 1-2 hits and the zombie is down, and the rate of fire isn't so fast you waist ammo on him as he's falling. But as a backup I go for ANY shotgun or just stick to my secondary.

Secondary is a tie between the Desert Eagle and the katana/macheti/axe(in that order) because cutting down zombies is fun, but that DE is like a small cannon, you just have to treat it like a rifle instead of "pew-pewing" away at the horde. Backup:dual pistols, the rest of the melee weapons just feel slow or underpowered like you aren't really connecting

Molotov is nice but if you have friends I've found that a good plan is to chuck a bile so the horde swarms something then follow it with a molotov, cleans up big rooms real quick(why is it the bile in a jar will attract hordes no matter where it lands but the fresh kind wont?)

First Aid Kit because if some one is dead you are typicaly better off finishing out the round or makeing sure you stay alive till it calms down a bit so you can go find a shock kit. Also if some one has died chances are it's becuase they weren't following the plan.

Pills... I guess, I really don't have a prefrence. The addrenalen is nice but it just doesn't seem to do much for me, and the pills last longer. I'd use the addrenalen if it gave you like a +100 buff on health and you run noticably faster.

Good tactics:
Tank: Spread out, if you group up he will probly run in and kill you all in one go. Keep him running in circles.

Horde/Unusual: Stay close, following a diamond pattern(one covering the front, one to each side and the last guy on bakcup to help keep everthing in check/covering the rear(this guy will probly get a few team hits).) and WATCH EVERYONES BACK and don't worry about your own. This way you don't have to keep spinning around to try and cover yourself leaving gaps in your gaurd.

Special: Watch every one's back. This way if some one gets grabbed by a jocky/smoker he wont get far before your friend is realeased so you don't have to chase after him and get sloppy. Keep your ears open. If you hear any special and don't know where it is or you can't get to it, let your group know cause they may see it/kill it. Don't break formation(diamond or some other prefered). If they split you up they will try and keep you that way, and then your gaurd will have massive holes in it and you will probly die if you don't get back together fast.

Side note: When a charger shows up focus fire. You need that thing dead before he sends people flying/carries someone off. Also he tends to glitch into people he is going to carry off, and there is little you can do about it except make sure he dies first.

Other members:
Front Man: Auto-Shotgun/High-Powered Machinegun, Melee weapon of choice(chainsaw is good) and a pipe bomb to help take off the heat.

Side Guards: High-Powered/large mag Machineguns/Large Mag Shotgun, dual pistols/Desert Eagle(no pew pew), doesn't matter aslong as they dont both have bile.

Rear Guard: Sniper(military)/grenade launcher (this way he wont Tk...as much), doesn't really matter though I would advise against melee as they don't work well at long range(duh), Carry the explosive/incendiary rounds or bile which should be aimed at special zombies.

Sidenote: Mix up the health packs/shock paddles because you don't know who will need what. I would stick with mostly pills because the adr. doesn't do enough extra. Never carry a gun that's out of ammo, trade it for ANYTHING. Always leave a few rounds in the gun if you switch to a secondary so you have something to come back to.

There you go E.A.O.'s guid to surviving l4d2(results not garentied, spelling/grammar errors on purpose)

Whatever movie your avatar is from, I can remember the name....

Evil Dead 2 I think, marvelous movie.

OT > M16 with katana/chainsaw, adrenaline, medikit, and pipe bomb. I like the beeping it makes. there's a part on the Parish campaign when the bridge your walking on blows up and there's usually a big ass horde down below, I love throwing the pipe bomb down and watching them swarm before picking off the stragglers. >:)

I like the SPAS-12 but it takes ages to reload fully, which is annoying when your team mates are busy staring at the wall.

Ak-47. Its the stronger machine gun in the game, and because its so inaccurate when fired continually, it is, in my opinion, the best weapon for clearing out incoming hordes.

Magnum. A one shot on common infected is incredible. You don't have to risk letting them get up close like you do with melee weapons. Plus, if there is even a millisecond of lag on your game, melee weapons will screw you over.

Bile Bomb. It lasts so long. Throw it and your set. Whether or not you run away or stay and kill the horde, you're gonna be fine.

And adrenalin over pills any day.

I like the chrome, tactical, and combat shotguns mixed with dualies or a magnum, hardly ever a melee weapon, and moly or pipe really depends on the type of environment. I also choose a defib over health if I'm full health and pills over adrenaline.

Sniper Rifle for picking off infected from afar or when a teammate wonders off and gets pounced by a jockey

Dual pistols for backup (or Desert Eagle when available)

Molotov for lighting up tanks

Health Pack for obvious reasons

Adrenalin just because I feel obligated to do so when playing as Ellis
