So what's your pleasure?
Aside from video gaming, wargaming is by far my favorite hobby. I am a die-hard 40K fan, and have a number of forces for other systems. I currently have:
- A gigantic Blood Angels force for Warhammer 40K, started all the way back in 1994. And it is indeed proper Blood Angels, not just "red marines". I have refined and specialized it so that my force is full of jump packs, dreadnoughts, Stormraven gunships, drop pods, and other Blood Angels material.
- A likewise big Skaven force for Warhammer Fantasy. I loves me my Skaven... there's just something so Pinky & The Brain about them that is impossible not to love.
- An Imperial Fleet for Battlefleet Gothic. A truly underrated game, and one that is immensely fun to play. Cathedrals... IIIIIN SPAAAAAAAAACE!
- A Wolf-in-Exile force for Battletech. This was my first gaming system, and it still ranks among my favorites.
- A Cygnar force for Warmachine. My poor Cygnar are somewhat neglected, as I have other priorities right now, what with an upcoming big 40K tournament, my Skaven and other systems, but I'll get around to focusing on these guys. Just maybe not this year...
- An Earth Alliance fleet for Babylon 5: Fleet Action. Truly complex game (think "Harpoon" levels of complexity) and all the more fun for it.
- A Federated States of America fleet for Dystopian Wars. My newest system, and very similar to Battlefleet Gothic in terms of gameplay. I like the look of the FSA ships, with their Mississipi river-boat look and gigantic paddles.
Likewise, I used to have:
- An Imperial Guard army for 40K. It was fun, but it contrasted too much with my main force, the Blood Angels. Where the BA's are aggressive, the Guard is all about stand-and-shoot. That, and they simply took up too much space, so I sold them.
- Dark Elves for Warhammer Fantasy. I simply didn't like them. I tried them, and they just confirmed that elves are most definitely not for me, evil or otherwise, so off for sale they went.
- German Panzer Grenadier company for Flames of War. The game was fun, but the community is unbearable. I've never played a game where they took things so bloody seriously, and I'm in it for the fun, not to win, so I sold this army as well.
Well? What about you?
