Basically do you have any certain self-created laws of morality that you force yourself to abide by, what is those laws and what is your reason for you keeping those laws?

Also is there any situation where you would break those morality laws, and what influences your decision, do your laws come from society's views of right and wrong, religion, personal sense of right and wrong, a sense of duty etc??

Some of mine are:

I will not hit a girl seriously (only lightly as a joke with friends) unless forced (she has a weapon and my life is in danger) in which case if I can't disarm her I'm knocking the ***** out.

I will not seek out fights with people and avoid conflict however if the person persists they will learn to not break rule number one of the world: "Do not piss me off"

I am not allowed to be an asshole if someone is really sad, unless of course I don't like them in which case I will be lol'ing

I take care of what is put in front of me, I don't go looking for charitable work but if there's someone I can help that I can see I assume there is a reason for it and do what I can.

I tend to base my morals on my empathic understanding of people, if I can put them in their shoes and try to think what actions would hurt/help them I try to take the positive action. Not being religious I don't have a pre-set rule book so this serves me well.

Also; as cheesy a it sounds, the bro code is a good base for a moral system.

I keep promises, secrets and spare change. That is my creed.

Beyond that, I just try to be good to myself and those that deserve it[footnote]In the event of a contradiction wherein I do not deserve it, even by my own judgement, I'll just be good to myself anyway[/footnote]. I also don't smoke, or drink (yet), but not for moral reasons.

It's my mission to give the cold hard truth to people, no matter how depressing.
Yes, that dress makes you look fat.
No, he's not in a better place.
Yes, I'd rape you if people weren't around.

My moral code has taken a bit of a dive now that i realise its gotten me nowhere.

Not that i'm going stop being(what i feel) a good person, just think that other people should try and work at being my friend/bf even family, shouldn't all have to be me.

edit: I'm still going to keep people's secrets, i know what is ment to be kept quiet, unlike some of my friends.

Well, I've got a little something that I always tend to say to people who ask if they've done or what-not. I guess that would fall under a code or law of mine.

"Do you feel that you've done wrong?"

It doesn't matter what society thinks. It doesn't matter what you've come to expect others to think. If you look at something you've done and you think that what you've done is wrong, based only on your own moral code, then what you've done is wrong. If not, then no.

1) Chicks before dicks.
2) Anyone taken is off limits, regardless of how much I may like them.
3) I don't throw the first punch.

That's all I can think of right now but I think there's more.

I'll agree here. Also, never hit a woman out of turn, defend friend and family, and close groups closely (wow that sounds stupid). Fight your hardest or dont fight at all. Don't screw over teh little man. All the originals are pretty much set in stone for me.

-Blood before anything.
-Never hit a woman.
-Always help/assist if any human in your vicinity is in immediate danger.
-Use your wits to fight, instead of your fists. If fighting is unavoidable throw the first punch and make sure it's a knock-out.
-Girlfriends are temporary, friends are forever.
-Always try to conqour other people's bad moods with humour.

I try to be the best person I can be. Helping friends where I can.

I have a lot of principles about a lot of stuff. Too much to list I think.
I do however differ a little from previous posters. I will in fact hit a girl. But only if she started. I will never start

my personal creed is either your a predator deserving of respect or pray existing only to be culled, learnt it over the years i've been hunting and have stuck with it since makes life refreshingly simple for me for e.g. my friend complains that he is being bullied i tell him my creed either he becomes a predator and strikes back or he accepts being pray and stops complaining. simple

Be good, if you can't be good, be lucky.
Don't be a troll or an asshole unless they're asking for it.
Violent actions agains me are rewarded with violent reactions.
Help where I can.

Not many more I can think of.

Always throw the first punch.
Follow your gut, unless it's obviously wrong.
Know what you want, and chase it.

To take care of those who have shown kindness to me. To put them before myself no matter what my situation.

I agree with this. A moral code is a difficult thing to write down in a few rules. I don't consult a rulebook when making a decision; I try to do what I feel is the best and most right, not necessarily what other expect or want me to do.

-People are motivated by the culmination of their past experiences. Since it's impossible to know literally everything about a person's past, it is wrong to be judgemental of their actions. Maybe they had a good reason. (Note: If they're doing something destructive, they should be stopped, however, try to be understanding.)

-Put the needs of others first. Always. Altruism is paramount.

-Lying is fine, as long as it's to prevent bad things rather than cause or hide them. (Ex. Telling your grandma you really like the sweater she bought you, etc.)

-Agressive violence is never acceptable under any circumstances. If some one else hits first, or is attacking some one else who can't defend themselves, defensive actions may be taken. However, it's never okay to start a fight.

-Respect the opinions of others. Even if it's wrong, as long as it isn't hurting anyone, it's none of my business.

-Tip your waiters at leat 25-30%. This is how they support themselves.
