Your most brutal gaming death?

Okay, THIS one scared the shit out of me. At one point in Red Dead Redemption i was given a hunting challenge to kill a bear with my knife. I started off from the trading post near the mountains and was following the train tracks when out of nowhere a bear spawned and killed my horse. While i'm getting up, a SECOND bear appears out of nowhere and shoves me onto the train tracks, where the train immediately ran me over and instantly killed me.

I swear i'm not making this up, the bears ambushed me then pushed me in front of a train. I knew they were very smart animals but GODDAMN.

Near the end at the marker, where the Nicole hallucination and the marker try to 'stop' you or assimilate you or something and you're taken into the insane demented world. If you fail to kill Nicole if and when she grapples you, Isaac awakens in reality and spears himself through the head with a Javelin... his eyes get wide and dull, his mouth is left slack open and he collapses, eyes rolled into the back of his head... yeeesh.

I just barely scraped out of a really hard boss fight in Final Fantasy 5... then I took three steps before healing and got killed in a random encounter. Then I looked at the title screen. Then I cried.

Also some of the later trials in Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney should deserve a mention when you have 3 pages worth of evidence and no idea what to present... Can be pretty broodle

The only one that comes to mind (besides the obvious Dead Space deaths) would be one of my deaths in Spider Man 2. I was fighting Doctor Octopus in a warehouse, and this electric field managed to knock away my last inches of life. But that wasn't the only thing it did - it flung my lifeless body all over the huge room, bouncing off everything for around 30 seconds before it finally came to rest on the lower level of the room.

I was speechless.

Most brutal? I don't know, but I can tell you my most Awesome one.

In was in Oblivion and was fighting my way to the top of the spire to take the sigil and I had gotten to the top level (just before you enter the sigil keep I think).
One of the Xivali (I think is what they're called) performed an epic power attack that threw me backwards and off of one of the thin bridges, where I proceeded to fall to the bottom and land in the pit of lava and die.

I'd go with Resident Evil 5, when i put down my controller to watch a cinematic causing me to miss a quick time event and then watched Albert Wesker drive his hand through my chest(near the end in the airplane).

Most of the deaths on Dead Space 1 & 2, the regenerator comes to mind mostly.

Well I've only played the first Dead Space, but yeah I've got to second this. That game doesn't just let you die, it really rubs your face in it by killing you in the most prolonged and graphic way imaginable. Esp. that fucking hive mind. It's like, 'Ok, I get it. You've eaten me, I'm dead. Can we skip to the reloading of the last checkpoint please?'
