I see lots of "Your most impressive gaming moment" threads, but none about embarrassing moments. Here's mine:

So, I was going through a D&D campaign when I came upon a locked door in a cabin. Since I was a dwarf fighter, thus wallowing in Strength, I decided to kick open the door.

I rolled a 1. Bounced into the wall behind me and dealt 3 points of damage to myself. You know what the worst part was? Next turn, I tried the handle. The door was unlocked and the room was empty.

Your turn! Your example doesn't need to be from a video game, it can be from any game at all.

I once struggled for five rounds trying to swat a tiny monsterous centipede off my head in a D&D game. I just kept rolling way too low to catch it. Yep. I was the rogue that game. I don't think anyone took my stealthy, lock picking, sneak attacking skills seriously after that. I could have taken down a dragon in one turn on my own, and my party members still would have said "Yeah, but there was the time with the centipede..."

Playing on a WoD chat.

My character, who was a fairly high ranking Sheriff style character and one of the most powerful characters on the chat... along with his Clanmate who was the Scourge, were sent after a particular traitor to take him down....

I rolled a botch, while my clanmate rolled all successes, for our first attack.. so my awesome scary looking Gangrel fell on his ass, right infront of the traitor, while his tiny little clanmate scourge sailed over his head, and eviscerated the enemy in one turn without blinking.

Since the person who played the Scourge is now my wife, I never hear the end of it.

See if you can find a copy of the Critical Miss tables from the old Middle Earth Role Playing System (MERPS). MERPS was brutal, but a lot of fun. My hobbit character put his own eye out with a thrown rock ricochet, cut three fingers off trying to stab a virtually incapacitated human, and eventually had his feet cut off by a trap that he himself was setting.
