Cazadors, must be the only time I got so much grief out of what basically amounts to freaking *flies*.

Those Malboro tentacle thingies from basically any of the older Final Fantasies, I always enjoy so much being served a cocktail of "Screw You" and status effects in the face (though having a Ribbon certainly helps).

Lastly, those god-awful, insta-killing, the-game-hates-you Yeti from Magicka - cause it's oh-so-much-fun to put one of those as the very first encounter of a level, meaning you'll often die-spawn-fail at casting-die again (and so on).

I could also add Navi from OoT, I maintain she was as much an enemy as Ganon in that her constant, incessant, asinine "Hey listen" felt like a war of attrition on my nerves.

[sub]But hey, it's not like I've got an axe to grind or anything...[/sub]

Creepers, especially when you're listening to music and just casually mining, all of the sudden you die and wonder what just happened.

STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM!!

Patrolling the Mojave makes me wish for a nuclear winter.

Oh god, just reading that line makes me wish for a nuclear winter. With the entire NCR military at the epicenter. Actually, no. ALL of Fallout : New Vegas's generic npcs. I can't wait for Skyrim, no more bland mobs...

On topic, I have to say that Goddamned Bats are the most irritating things ever put into a game, with the runner ups of forced, non skipable cutscenes that you have to watch over and over again and/or the boss that isn't all that difficult, but only lets you hit once out of 15 tries and then you take 15 hp out of his 3000 total. That shit is nothing more than an annoyance that serves no purpose besides making the fight "epic"

Hmm... from the recent Mortal Kombat, there's Shao Khan (I think that's how it's spelled), otherwise known as one of the most broken characters I've ever played against. Seriously, he can cancel out any knocking-down moves he likes, has a projectile that will always hit and stun unless you jump forward at the perfect time or teleport, and is much more resistant to damage. Not to mention the damage he does is just wrong. Seriously, my Xray attack did 13% health damage to him. His did 51%. This is much less then fair.

Also, any double-teams in the story mode MK9. It's really annoying to face two at once with only one health bar while they have two.

The giant dragon at the end of the third disk or so of FF9. It's the main reason I've never beaten that game. It was insanely powerful and made me want to kick a baby.

The cazadors from Fallout: New Vegas, as they were very overpowered.

The creepy zombie-things from OoT, for scaring me as a child.

Most of the enemies in Halo: Reach on Legendary for being very overpowered.

Every enemy from CoD: WaW, for having infinite respawn abilities and killing me with four or five shots, if I was lucky.

And finally, the last one I can remember, the zombonis from Plants Vs. Zombies. Those things were very annoying and would normally get pretty far if I wasn't ready for them.

I know there are more, but those are the ones that pop up off the top of my head.

Thank you! Shao Kahn was the first name that popped into my head... granted, I beat him eventually, but only after spam-projectile attacking him. Look, I get that he's a boss and all, but if gamers have grown up past the games where a creator makes a boss-fight especially cheap (blowing through attack animations, you do a quarter of the damage you normally would while they do twice the damage to you,) why did they backpedal so quickly in his creation? I didn't have a sense of real satisfaction from beating him... the middle finger I gave toward the screen was towards the game-developers, not the boss, himself.

These. I hate them. The annoying "Caw. Caw. CAW DAMNIT!" and they chase you forever.

I once had about twenty or thirty of them chasing me for about twenty minutes or so as I ran wildly through the wilds of Morrowind to the Redoran town (the name escapes me) where I ran inside and let the guards fight (and get killed by) the cliff racers.

I was forever traumatized.

Good loot though. XD

Cliffracers manual: Fly up, fly way up. Then kill the swarm with arrows or spells. Done. If you can't fly, shoot arrows or cast spells. Then you're playing the game wrong.

Definitely Alpha Protocol's Konstantin Brayko. That guy is just broken. AP is a good game with some serious flaws, but is usually enjoyable anyway. But Brayko is the worst thing in the whole game. Fighting that semi-invulnerable bastard is like pulling your own teeth out. Through your nose.
Two words-Chain Shot. It makes the pistol into a rapid-fire stealth version of a sniper rifle....with exploding bullets....that cause mini-hiroshimas in your enemies brain....BEST SKILL EVER

Caza-fucking-dors from Fallout NV the poison damage makes them fucking ridiculous unless you're at least lvl 15 or over (with good weapons naturally)

And there is always always another group of the whores over the next hill...

Also anything that's explosive and fast, that's just not fair

Exploders in Dead Space, especially on Impossible difficulty, where they're pretty much a guaranteed one-hit-kill. So, if you've got a bunch coming at you from different directions, you're basically fucked over and over again until you get lucky. I'm also none too fond of the Divider parts, which will invariably end up wasting a good chunk of my ammo and jumping at me at least once. The heads especially freak me out, since they're basically out to body-jack you (and they'll definitely succeed on Impossible, even if you have almost full health, 'cause they're just dicks like that).

Then there's the colossi in Shadow of the Colossus. Great game, but I don't think I've ever sworn so much in my life.

Malboro from almost any Final Fantasy.
I'm playing FFX (and I was really lucky with the sun sigil, only took me an hour this time through) and I've taken to always having someone with 'First strike' in my active party and someone with 'Flee' in my back-up (also, Yuna has flee, so if I'm against a malboro I'm given the choice of uber-pwn or run away).

OT: To jump on the bandwagon, bats. In FFX, they have high evasion and can confuse you (and FFX confusion can be better, or horribly worse than pokemon confusion), and in pokemon ... zubat.
You have a thing about bats don't you? Bats are generally annoying in most games with what seems to be the universal 50% dodge rate. Let's just hope they never figure out that giving a bat an attack like Bad Breath would make for a insanely hard secret boss.

Come to think of it, most any secret boss is hard. Most of them are harder than any final boss in any game.

And to prove my uber dorkness, any enemy that uses fear in WoW. I just love it when an enemies well placed fear sends someone into another group of monsters.

Easily Shao Kahn from the new MK, I like the character, but the super armour shit they gave to all the Boss characters makes them cheap meaning you have to be cheap to win.

Daniel T.
first college dorm roommate
throughout the 3 semesters he was allowed on campus, he got banned from the other dorms by the school, kicked out of the dorms all together, and suspended 2x
now, imagine what he did to deserve this

Brayko didn't give me much trouble because by the time I got to him I was overpowered in melee. So every time he pulled out his knives and charged I gleefully beat at him for 30 seconds or so.
Sis on the other hand was a major headache, literally. My bullets would just bounce off her and getting close earned me a kick in the head.

My all time most hated enemy would be banshees from American McGee's Alice. They're not that tough, per se. Basically flying, flaming skeletons dressed in robes that scream at you. Problem is their screams push you back and are next to impossible to dodge. Add to that that they always show up in fidgety jump sections, in groups. I had more trouble with banshees than some of the bosses.
