How has no one said Vergil from DMC3 yet?

It was hard, it was climactic, it was a battle between brothers, and the music was great.

Lavos from Chrono Trigger. You fight him once to bust his shell, and then you find the real Lavos when you get inside. The closing credits add to the whole epic feeling as well.

Ninetails from Megaman X Command Mission. The guys has a OHKO move, a move that does 5-6000 damage to all three of your party members and heals almost half of his health every one of his turns.

The Black Knight in Fire Emblem 9. Ike's 1v1 fight against the Black Knight, who then pulls a cheap shot and summons in a healer or two after three turns. So you have to kill him in a one on one fight in merely three turns. And if you hit him, and he Luna's you, then on his turn, he Luna's you again, it's all over.

-Raptor, out.

Just Cause 1 boss battle.

Get in a jet, fly down nukes in flight, shoot them down, intercept the presidential plane, JUMP OUT OF THE JET grapple onto the plane, get inside, kill all of the body guards, get to the president, he jumps out of the plane, you jump out after him, you intercept him in the air, you throw semtex on his ass and watch as gooey bits rain down on the city.

This guy.

Beating him was one of my greatest achievements, right after beating N and eating an entire zucchini.

The Joker battle at the end of the NES Batman.
The death of "Master D" in Bionic Commando.
Taking down the Casino King with a Royal Flush in Casino Kid.
Final Wily battle in Mega Man 2.

Bah XD..friggin first person to reply to the thread and you ninja mine :p. I just beat chaos again a few hours ago, such a friggin UBER fight.
Only reason the asshole ever beats me is because he exploits his damn summon or I get caught in divine punishment when I stop and drift a bit (I main Golbez). Fucking lvl 130-150 form is complete hell to fight as one wrong move will screw you over since he LOVES cheap shots. Those forms are tough even when you fight him the easy way (useing Ex-Death).

This bastard right here. Epic, tough, and annoying son of a ***** Chaos is.
What game is he from?
Dissidia: Final Fantasy for the PSP, epic ass fighting game.

Here's the bastard in action, the japanese version of him is easier than the English version.

highly agree to this. god damn i hated this bastard with a passion for a few months of my life. the music is fucking epic in the us version (not bad as i saw in the japanese version), i really really hope they make a port of this to ps3 or pc somehow, i want to play this game again so much =[

most memorable though...hmm..

oddly enough, it wasn't hard, but

Zelda: windwaker
at about 3 minutes in is my part that im talking about, i was like "DAMNNNNN BOIII, RAPED ON GANON!"

It wasn't exactly a boss battle, more like a mid-boss battle, but in KOTOR2 after I returned to the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine(I had killed two of the Jedi Masters and helped the last).
I got into a fight with Master Kavar and it felt great, it felt like an epic lightsaber battle with just the two of us fighting back and forth.
oh god, if you have it on the pc go load up the restoration mod for that game and when you go to the machine planet to find master lonna vash, for some reason the light side path had a glitch so i couldn't pass the part so i just decided to attack her then and there on the spot to take her goodies, and GOOD FUCKING LORD ALIMIGHTY. she is harder than any other boss in that game, she will slice and dice you like a hot knife in butter, i tried every technique and every force power at my disposal, that ***** was a walking terminator, if she had been alive in the original cut of the game she could've destroyed every sith lord in the blink of an eye.

That's right! Those were some kick-ass battles with him. I like the 1st time you fight him.

EVERY battle in Shadow of the Colossus.

I remember each and every one of them in painstaking detail, but my favorite absolutely has to be the Sky Serpent.

I have to say:

Most of the bosses from Gradius 3 for SNES, that was one of my favorite games when I was a kid.

The Queen of Hearts from American McGee's Alice. In fact, that whole end sequence was pretty creepy and well done for a game released in 2000. In fact, the whole game was pretty damn good for something released in 2000.

GLaDOS. Enough said.

The R7037 from Mother. It completely kicks your ass... until you find a tank and blow the heck out of it! So satisfying

Boss in the fire temple, Volvagia (I think that's his name) in OoT.

I remember when I first started of in Pokemon Red, I picked Charmander and found that was a bad choice for the first gym (rock). Fuckin' took me ages to beat that Onyx!

Back in the day when Lineage 2 was actually a good game, I joined my clan in a battle against a new raid boss. Took almost 30mins to take it down!

Also Draygon from Super Metroid, the first boss that scared the shit out of me.

Memorable?

Velvet versus a dragon and a sorcerer together in Odin Sphere, probably the hardest boss in the game using one of weakest defensive characters. This almost made me punch a hole in my wall.

Henry Hatsworth vs. Lance Banson. Real men don't fight, THEY SING! I saw this sample (possibly this video) at a panel about video game music at PAX EAST this year and it made me go buy the game.

The fight with Sephiroth in KH1 is probably the most enduring in my heart. When you finally defeat him without spamming limit breaks, it is a true achievement (especially on hard mode). Honorable mentions go to Xion from KH358/2, (for being the best part of a so-so game), and Virgil at the end of DMC3.
