The factory world in Banjo-Tooie has a very special place in my heart. I still listen to the background music on occasion.

Getting the ocarina on the bridge (well just that bridge in general I suppose) / Zora's Domain (non frozen) both from OOT.

Final Destination (ssbm! :D)

Most overworlds from Zelda games really.

Gerudos Valley thanks to the music.

Probably GTA San Andreas, even though it was huge.
GTA IV too. It was a bit smaller.
I hate it when people critisize my driving in freeroam though...
I don't need a waypoint. I know exactly where we're going and the fastest way there.
I also know each and every enterable building and the locations of various vehicles as well as customized variants...

Also de_dust2...
WHY DOES EVERY GODAMNED SERVER HAVE TO PLAY THIS MAP 24/7?!

I would have to say the wrecked ship in Super Metroid. For a 16-bit game, it sure as hell nailed creepy and mysterious atmosphere.

For atmosphere, nothing beats the Shalebridge Cradle in Thief: Deadly Shadows for me. A close second is the small cul-de-sac with the windchimes in the Half-Life 2 chapted "Water Hazard", and I'd be remiss in forgetting the X-Labs in the original STALKER. I'll also give a shout-out to the Pale Pass in Oblivion- the first time I stepped into the place, it was dusk and snowing, and one of my favorite music tracks in the game started playing; it was as if I'd stepped into a mysterious, tiny world all to myself (and a bunch of ogres), and that desire to explore that had been waning finally came back full-force.

The Zanarkand Ruins from FF X still stand out for me, as does the path to the Ruins themselves. It's probably something to do with the amazing music and general atmosphere of that part of the game.
Oh damn you, almost precisely what I was going to say >.<

I know there's another place as well, maybe from the same game, maybe not, but it's like a half-uncovered memory that if anyone mentioned it to me, I'd instantly remember but as of now I'm drawing a blank.

Nova Prospekt in Half-Life 2, starting right with the door, the sign, the solitary dim lamp and the 3 crates you see right after the loading screen. The quiet part at the beginning is wonderfully ominous and the fights afterwards are intense between the antlions and the turrets. Love it.

In Oblivion it's Aleswell. It's practical because it's a free bed and storage, but it's also beautiful because if you step to the inn's side, you get a beautiful view of the Imperial City, framed by a tree and the sun always in the right place (since you're in the north).

If you mean something I'll never be able to forget, it's the beginning of world 1-1 in Super Mario Bros. If you mean what made the biggest impression on me, I don't know.

I love Star Tropics! It was practically my babysitter :D

/Ahem.. Anyway, The location I'll always remember is Seyda Neen in Morrowind.

Honestly, my house in Megaton in Fallout 3. And that's a bit sad.

The whole world of Rapture was pretty memorable.
