Sometimes, everything goes wrong, the AI got a tech lead, you keep getting blasted by blue shells the second you even think about getting in first, the enemy carry gets both all the denies and all the last hits, everything goes wrong.
But, on those rare occasions, everything goes right. You grab the all the wonders yet still can make an army that flattens all your foes, you managed to lap your enemy and even managed to dodge a blue shell, the enemy carry keeps getting himself killed. IT almost seems trivial to you, winning by such an absurd margin. What are your stories of utter success?
I was playing Civ V as Pocatello on continents on a very large map. I was lucky enough to be on a fairly large landmass with only one other nation on it, Indonesia. I was able to get all the technology boosting wonders fairly early, and rolled over my enemy with much more technologically advanced forces. I was able to have a lot of high population cities, dominating the tech race. I was so far ahead that I had nukes when most of the AI was just getting out of the renaissance, all of them literally afraid of my might. Except Indonesia (they had one worthless city I didn't even want) who hated me to much to fear me, but kept getting buried by denouncements and declarations of war by everyone else.
