I'll just copy my post from the last PS3 thread that came up:

"I'll list my favorite PS3 games that you can't get on PC:

Infamous 1 & 2 - The Infamous series were my favorite PS3 games until The Last of Us rolled around. The travel mechanics (power line grinding, hoverjet hands, ice launching) are the standard by which I judge travel in sandboxes these days.

The games makes you feel incredibly powerful and badass as well (you can't say shooting lightning from your fingertips isn't ridiculously fun).

Persona 4 Arena - If you've played Persona 3 and Persona 4 before. The game is a genuine continuation of both games. I personally really enjoyed seeing what the Persona 3 gang had been up to. There is a sequel on the way too.

Shadow of the Colossus & Ico HD - SotC is a timeless classic. The HD remake is great and if you haven't played this before, you should. I did get bored of Ico though.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix HD remake of a classic PS2 JRPG, a very good sequel and a movie of a DS game? Value for money there. A 2.5 remix of KH 2, BBS and Re: Coded is on the way too.

The rest are 3rd person shooters, but they are genuinely good games you can't get on PC.

Ratchet and Clank Future Trilogy - If you ever played R&C on the PS2 you will know what to expect here. A refinement of a great formula. Don't bother with QForce or All 4 One though.

Vanquish - Japanese 3rd person shooter with a crazy sliding mechanic. The game actually punishes you for staying in cover. Gears of War this is not.

The Last of Us - I know the zombie apocalypse has bean beaten to death, but this game is an absolute gem. Great characters, gameplay and story - the holy trinity.

Red Dead Redemption - Rockstar's best game. The world may seem barren at first glance but there's a lot of content in this game. The storyline is pretty good as well.

Uncharted 1,2 & 3 - 2 and 3 are especially good. The first gets a bit repetitive with it's environments and gunplay, but the sequels mix it up brilliantly (especially 3). The parkour is a lot of fun and not overly frustrating.

I can't comment on Valkyria Chronicles as I have yet to play that myself. It's sitting in my to-play pile along with Catherine. I've heard good things about those two titles though."

Well if your interested in RPGs, have ever heard of the "Tales of" series?

I recommend checking out Tales of Xilla and Tales of Grace F (JRPGs).

I would also recommend Tales of Vesperia which is arguably the best in the series. Unfortunately, the PS3 version was never released outside of Japan and the 360 version is the only one that made it state side.

And as many people have already mentioned you should also look into Valkyria Chronicles.

The Last of Us and Journey were the two games that made my PS3 a worthwhile purchase.

Although TLoU might not be for you since it's pretty third person shootery. And Journey might not be for you since it's one of those artsy "walking simulators".

Honourable mention to Shadow of the Colossus HD, even though it's a PS2 game.

Most of the PS3 exclusives that I tout are well covered already except for one, which is Valkyria Chronicles. If it's anywhere near your gaming wheelhouse (which is hard to say for sure because it's a weird hybrid in a couple of ways) it's many hours of addictive gaming goodness.

Lots of good suggestions here... and a lot of games that are flat-out better on PC, and a disturbing number of thumbstick-controlled crosshairs (which is, I assume, what you don't like about console shooters. I feel the same way)

That said, I can heartily second the recommendations for...
Resonance of Fate
Dragon's Dogma (just avoid playing archer classes)
Shadow of the Colossus and Ico HD
Little Big Planet

...and just to be an ass, I'll recommend a shooter. Go get a USB mouse and keyboard, plug 'em into your PS3, and play Dust 514. It's the one shining example I hold up to show that game devs have absolutely no valid excuse for not including mouse and keyboard support in their console shooters. It's not the console's fault, it has the capacity for good input options. Fuck thumbsticks and their awkward non-aiming.

Also, if you don't despise racing simulation games, Gran Turismo 5 is excellent.
If you enjoy Arcade-y racing combat games, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is pretty fun

Theres a few games on it a lot have already be mentioned but I would say Valkyria Chronicles gets my vote as a must play game easily the game of the generation for me and I usually dont like strategy type games.

Not quite as highly recommended (but still easily worth a playthrough because its excellent) is Journey.

Most of the big ones are already taken, so I'll just sneak in Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus. It just came out and it's good, really good. And that's coming from a rather jaded R&C fan. Seriously, go buy it and experience the jetpack fueled fun!

For oddness and plain old easily-dstracted fun, try Warriors Orochi 3. It's pure insanity. Massive cast of characters, lots of levels, a few neat mechanics, and it actually has an overarching plot for once. Granted, the plot is also insane, but at the point where Nobunaga Oda, Ryu Hayabusa, and Lu Bu can all be on the field at the same time and beat the crap out of each other, you've officially entered some sort of absurd yet highly entertaining fanfiction.

Treat it less like a spectacle fighter a la Devil May Cry and more like a beat-em-up a la Double Dragon, and you'll likely find that your inclination towards it might improve.

Not exclusives here, but still great fun if you own a PS3.

Dragon's Dogma
Dragon's Crown
Kingdoms of Amalur

Dragon's Dogma has probably given me close to 200 hours of play time value on it's own.
I was intrigued by Dragon's Dogma but it fell down on my list because I heard some fairly disappointing things about it. However, I know they released a sort of expanded version that addressed a lot of issues. If you played Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen (I think that's what it as called), I heard they lowered the price for the fast travel items. Does the price drop on those items mean that you can just fast travel constantly, by the time you're halfway or so through the game, or do you still have to be selective about when you fast travel? Also, is it fair to say that it's a game you play for the game play and not so much for the story? I heard the story is really weak but I could probably look past that if the game play makes up for it

No idea. I really enjoyed all the Mass Effect games, the Dragon Age games, and a few others, but I don't know if any of them qualify as "Must Play" in my list. Even Spec Ops: The Line, while amazing, isn't everyone's cup of tea--plus it's a shooter and you ruled those out.

Guess I'll jump on the band wagon and say The Last of Us. And Uncharted 2 is apparently the Second Coming in the gaming world, although to me it was simply fun, not fantastic.

I hear good things about the God of War series as well, but those games are not to my taste at all, so I can't say.

And I think you're mistaken about not seeing PS3 games for much longer. I feel they'll be around for a few more years yet. Sony would be insane to stop making product for them so quickly after a new console. At least, I hope you're mistaken...

Still selective, but it's more lenient.
Before ferrystones could be purchased for quite a sum, I think 20-30K. You could also find them in chests and things fairly frequently. The original game starts off with only two points to travel to. The village where you start and the main city.
Later on in the game you find a handful of giant stone markers that when plopped down allow you to travel to that location as well. After you beat the game you could buy these port crystals for a large sum of money.

In Dark Arisen, if you have a save file from the original game you automatically get an eternal ferrystone which never gets used up. That aside, the changes they made were making ferrystones much less expensive, something like 2-3K now. And you find port crystals much more often and they themselves do not cost as much and I believe you can purchase them before beating the game.

Also, is it fair to say that it's a game you play for the game play and not so much for the story? I heard the story is really weak but I could probably look past that if the game play makes up for it
Obviously this is something heavily based on opinion, so I can't claim what I'm about to say is 'right' but I actually enjoyed the story quite a bit. I felt it's simplicity and elegance actually distinguished it from a lot of japanese rpg stories. Granted I've now played through the game probably 10-15 times with 9 or so different characters, so the story is kind of moot for me at this point, but my first play through I really enjoyed it.

That said, if the story was taken away, I feel the combat more then holds up it's end. I mean I liked the story, but if the combat wasn't what it is, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I do.

One game series that always gets overlooked, motorstorm!

I know you're either a guy who like racing games or you're not but I'm not a racing fan but motorstorm is fun!

It separates itself by having this best for you/map style car choices. Like a big rig is great for plowing through mud but it's acceleration is awful but you can ram everybody without much penalty. Motorbikes are fast but suck in mud and you can fall off easily. Sports cars are the fastest on dry land but fragile and average on just about everything else. In later games you can race in monster trucks! The game is awesome.

It also has a boost mechanic, boost too much you blow up (great for stealing first place) and boost cools down naturally or faster if you go through a puddle/stream and will increase if you drive near lava.
Plus it feels oddly good to bounce along on very uneven ground.

Oh and tracks aren't just a circle, they have multiple paths. Like motorbikes usually have windy paths with jumps and the heavier stuff wades through mud low down.

That I own or played:

True PS3 exclusives:
Demon's Souls - great atmosphere, although some research will help you a long way
God of War 3 (and 1 & 2) - 1 & 2 pushed the PS2 to the edge and 3 is very dense graphically, but smooth as butter in both gameplay and graphics
inFamous (haven't played 2 yet) - could use more enemy variety but awesome little superpowered sandbox
Katamari Forever - probably the definitive katamari game... will keep you occupied for a long time if you want to collect and unlock everything
Little Big Planet (1, 2, & Karting) - play through the games, unlock the pieces then build your creations. the platforming is fun and has a distinctive style but nothing extraordinary, the karting is a mario kart clone, but the ability to create your own levels or race tracks can occupy you for hours, not to mention playing the millions of levels created by the community.

And that's all I got for true exclusives. However, in terms of 'kinda' exclusives (as in originally exclusives):
Final Fantasy XIII + XIII-2 - are probably still the prettiest games for PS3.
Metal Gear Solid 4 (haven't actually played it yet XD) - super slick, but i can't start because i know half of it will be cutscenes (but looks so awesome, even now)

I suppose I can list off what I think are the best PS3 games out there.

Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection
Demons Souls
Dark Souls
Katamari Forever
Dragons Dogma
Disgaea 3,4,D2

I really recommend Demons Souls and Dark Souls if you are into medieval rpgs. The combat has a lot of depth to it and while subtle there is actually a ton of story in the games. It is mostly told through bits of conversation, the environment, and item descriptions.
