Ammy is pretty much a master of all trades, she has a great projectile, and her ground combos are insane at keeping the pressure on, Okami Shuffle is also one of the best supers in the game.

X-23 is a rushdown master, her aerial specials are insane at closing distance and her ground specials can mix up between a low, high or grapple lunge, which all combo into her Super, not to mention she's probably the quickest character in the game.

Morrigan has a great mixup game, she glides instead of dashes, so her attacks can punish low blockers very well, her shell kick also breaks through armoured foes with ease (sent, hulk) and her Astral Vision super creates a mirror image behind her opponent which makes it very easy to lockdown enemies with projectile spam or get a very good normal combos (she essentially deals double damage for 10 seconds).

Morrigan on point. That forward air dash is great for getting past projectile spam. it is so funny seeing people spam Hadouken/Neutralize and being able to literally just fly over it. That and she's Morrigan. Basically the reason I play most games with her in. Because she is in them.

Amaterasu, I only recently picked up, over my two previous choices, Deadpool and Viper. Viper's Focus Attack is interesting but she ate up way too much hyper for my tastes, and Deadpool was just kinda boring to me. He's a fun character, but playstyle wise, I just couldn't like him. So I went with Ammy and she's pretty cool.

And finally, the Dreaded One, Dormammu. Nothing is better than activating X-Factor Lvl 3 while having 5 Hyper bars. The chip damage from the Stalking Flare and Meteor Storm spam is enough to kill a character and a half usually. So damn satisfying.

Admittedly I suck, but usually my team is:

Wesker/Felicia/Dante or Deadpool/Chris/Haggar

I like using Phoenix but I seem to suck even worse with her on my team, so meh.

My 3rd varies a lot. The ones I've enjoyed most:
Sentinel (because he's overpowered and ridiculous)
Viewtiful Joe
Akuma
Captain America
Morrigan

Right now I'm using Captain America, but my gut tells me I'll end up switching to Sentinel so I can actually win. He's just too damn good not to use.

Amaterasu has an extremely quick light attack, so it's easy to get in a hit before your opponent, and her heavy attack is a chain (free bonus damage). Also, the beads have crazy range.

Chris is hilarious with all of his guns, and the flamethrower pierces armor. A lot of times, opponents will try to super-jump over to you, which leaves them open to the flamer. Unfortunately, his level 3 hyper is shit. The combination punch also chains into pretty much everything.

Wesker is my reversal character. If my other two characters die (I always make sure Wesker is the last alive), I activate x-factor and use his counter, which does ridiculous damage and breaks the enemy's rhythm. Wesker and x-factor have pulled me out of a LOT of bad fights.
