SO you know when you have an opinion or an idea that just doesn't resonate with the norm? I would like to hear yours.

For me, well...
You know how most people want to go on holidays to some sunny, beautiful city where they can sip fine beverages and enjoy the company of their beloved or children? I would love to go on holiday to Chernobyl.
Which is odd because most people like to go on holiday to the nicest place in the world, not the worst place in the world.

But when you think about it it makes perfect sense. After all I COULD go to Paris and see a big city full of people and liveliness, but I already know what people and life is like. And in a holiday you want danger, adventure and interest. Well in Chernobyl there is most definitely plenty of danger, and interest. The place is a "Ghost town" where nobody lives, and I would just love to see a whole city deprived of humanity. A degrading husk of a city where all that remains of the human inhabitants is a few bitter reminders of a long lost past. Children's toys and old personal affects lay soggy and forgotten in the apartment buildings. Plants and animals are free to spread devoid of human intervention, which is quite reminiscent of apocalyptic science fiction such as "I Am Legend". Seriously it would be just amazing to wander around and see the sights and lack of sounds of Chernobyl.

Anyway what's your odd idea or interest?

Go when it's snowy, and consume alcohol. It helps prevent your getting irradiated and poisoned because of said irradiation, or so I hear.

Odd idea or interest... I like old-fashioned clothing, especially of the gentleman's variety (although I don't wear any). Whilst quite a few people here do also, it is not really something the norm goes with.

I have softer skin than women.

Let me repeat that;

A man. With softer skin. Than most women, who moisturize and what not.

I think that babies are just particularly sadistic chest-bursters that make you suffer and slowly die for 18 years instead of just killing you quickly. Apparently this is not the popular opinion.

You think Chernobyl is the worst place in the world?

Ha.

My uncle has done it. http://www.ukrainianweb.com/chernobyl_ukraine.htm Heaps of tourism packages like that are available.

Knock yourself out :)

If you want to have your DNA mutated and get horribly sick due to diseased food and stagnent water then by all means go to Chernobyl.

My oddity:
I hate bright sunny days and love grey cloudy days.
Chernobyl is a wildlife foundation nowadays, now that humans have fucked off. I too would like to visit.

EDIT: Goddamn ninjas.

OT: I can intimidate technology into working, and can automatically figure out most toolsets/editors.

Can colours be hopeful?
What?

This would be sanguine [http://farm1.static.flickr.com/105/305794965_f158f0ce08.jpg]*
And it's my favorite color ever.

Ah. The definition of sanguine is to do with cheery optimism. I was unaware that it was even a colour. Nice colour though.

I might possibly regret this, but could you cite a few examples?

I didn't know it was a word in it's own.

And you'd be surprised how many people say it's a nice color until I make them realize it's the color of blood.
Then they don't like it anymore.
Blood's an alright colour. Just don't get any clothing stained and you can admire the slowly-growing puddle with serenity.

I always wanted to write a post-apocalyptic book or screenplay and I think a trip to Chernobyl would be a great inspiration.

You're not going to Wolverhampton?

On topic, I am generally eccentric. Positively bohemian. My oddity, my main, oddity, would probably be my uncanny ability to go days being a character. It helps with my writing to become the person I'm writing about. Yeah, I know, method acting be evil, but it works for a small period.

Well, my creations follow a train of thought. For example, minute, as in time, is spelt exactly the same way as minute, as in tiny. Therefore minutes = smalls. I have more elaborate ones, but alas I can never think of examples when I'm asked for some...
