Your opinion on jailbreaking and modded controllers?

We went through this. Hacking, jailbreaking, and modded controllers, they are unavoidable. Somebody already jailbreaked the PS3 and are also modding the controllers for it. Its no surprise that an xbox 360 would have a community with modded controllers, but the PS3? Shit. Whats your opinion on this and how should it be prevented for a better gaming experience?

I look at it the same way I do teenagers that "mod" their cars by sticking a bunch of plastic parts to a 7 year old sedan. To me it's a waste of time and you're going to get more dirty looks than respect but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Isn't it just a tad different when the mods actually change the functionality of the device?

I jailbroke my iPod touch, and yet I still purchase a lot of apps for it through the legitimate store. I did so for custom themes, and some of the cool free apps they have.
