Your opinion on Kill la Kill's Mako Mankanshoku

Well the show is pretty much a parody/satire(at times the same way Valvrave is satire) so it would be dumb to remove her as it would lose a huge element of that from the show. Some of the stuff she says is literally sledghammer to the face satire of characters of her archetype. Aside, from all the realisations she adds that work through her and her families characters the show would lose a lot from swapping her out.

Somewhat relevant, this quote comes straight from Studio Trigger.

The 15th episode is the climax of the first half. The second "half" of the show begins with Episode 15/16.

They cannot show the new OP and ED before Episode 16 because it would spoil massive story events that occur in Episode 15.

All we know about the second ED is that it will reflect Ryuko's personality, as well as Mako's feelings for Ryuko.

From Episode 15 onward, Studio Khara - of Evangelion REBUILD fame - will be assisting on the production of Kill la Kill.

Newtype will be featuring Kill la Kill next month, but cannot show anything yet due to spoilers of events in Episode 15 and afterwards.

All of this is taken from the official Anime Twitter page.
Get hype.

Stating that the second ED will reflect Mako's feelings for Ryuko suggests that those feelings go beyond "Ryuko is my best friend! She has a huge rack! She's so cool!" I don't see outright yuri happening since Imiashi is better than that and wouldn't complicate the plot of a 24 episode fighting shonen with romance. Hopefully this means Mako will serve more of a purpose beyond the comic relief aspect in the second half.

Funnily enough my opinion is the exact opposite.

She is a stereotypical joyful airhead and I was concerned that this was literally all she was going to be. While she certainly lives up to it, like everything else in Kill La Kill she is ridiculously over-the-top with it.

She is the funniest part of the show as far as I am concerned, especially her interactions with other characters such as Gamagōri. If she wasn't in it, I think it'd be completely detrimental to the show, because she fills a certain niche in regards to the over-the-top nature of the series.

Plus she has some of the best lines.
My thoughts exactly.

OT: Look at my avatar and tell me what you think? XD

Seriously though, she is my favorite character in the show by far, and I am usually not a huge fan of the comic relief characters in anime. She brings a lot more to the table than just her crazy shenanigans. She's Ryuko's rock, after all!

I really find her annoying. I'd even call her the Jar-Jar Binks of the show. I love over-the-top characters but something about her and her family just makes me cringe. Every time she tries to do her comic-relief bit it just doesn't play out right for me. It's just way too forced and awkward. All I see is a character that the writer's are trying way too hard to make wacky.

And I know the whole point of her character and the show itself is to be a satire of certain anime tropes but it's still really annoying.

Most of the time, she's ok. I like her looks, she makes me laugh a lot, there's some touching moments she shares with Ryuko. On the other hand, I remember watching a few episodes and thinking "Ugh. this bit's gone on long enough"

But hey, no character is perfect, right?
Except Hachiman.

I just view her as the comedy relief character they sometime have in a show. I mean the scene with her does tend to be funny which is a good thing since she does tend to defuse the situation quite abit!
Oh my god.

That's probably the stupidest thing I've watched for a year, I need to lay down and heal my brain for a while, Jesus Christ, what the fuck was that?
I was afraid that I was missing something here, but it seems this is not limited to just me. Hi friend!

Being someone who is trying the most good valued anime recently, like Madoka Magica and Girls Und Panzer, I decided to come and here to see what the fuss about the show is. My University's anime club seems to be mostly into it, yet when I just saw the hub bub about the costume from the battle scene ... it turned me completely off.

I don't know why, but my trigger practically broke in my mind, and all motivation to watch this anime went away.
Hearing about this and Make, I came in and saw a lot of fanboys loving her.

I checked a video on here ... and oh man, I just want to get out of here and watch something suited to more my style. Don't worry I knew it wasn't a serious anime, but thee is only so much before I want to leave to see something more serious. Something like Gurren Lagann made it silly and yet surprisingly awesome and sad. And has the best side character ever, which Mako couldn't even hop in beating due to his awesome phrases and glasses!

But eh, it doesn't seem I won't miss out on much.
And no, I am not hating, just not my thing. >.<

All I can really say is that there's a lot of her character that hasn't been revealed, and the amount of love and attention she's been given by the creates implies to me that she's very important to the story and possibly one of the more powerful characters. I happened to like the corruption episode because it expanded on both her character and Satsuki's which didn't have enough up to that point. It also helped her to be more than just a comic relief girl.

I wouldn't use that video as a way to come to an idea of what Kill la Kill is. It's a pretty awful scene and one of my least favorite moments in the entire show. These "Mako Moments" start out occuring once per episode but the commonality of them drops a lot later on. She's funnier when she isn't being random. I'd suggest giving it a try up to episode 5, which is the point the show stops saying "look at me, look how goofy I am!" and starts focusing more on the story and the characters (characters are definetly the strong point of KLK). It's still kinda silly beyond that point for the most part, but no more than Gurren Lagann was. In fact, the show can actually be pretty damn dark at times when it wants to. You'll stop being bothered by the outfits pretty quickly. The transformation sequences are pretty cringeworthy the early on, but you can always scroll down during these sequences.

Back on topic, episode 15 confirmed Mako x Gamagoori! Well, kind of.
