Your own country

Well I was reading about the country Sealand and I started thinking what I would do if I got a large island and made it into a country, so what would you do as head of your own little contry? What kind of climate would it have?

I'd definitely make sure that games are allowed and I'd actually listen to the people. I would not base the country on any religion as I would prefer a more of a common sense approach (not trying to be controversial, and not saying that religion doesn't have common sense. I'd try and encourage game companies to come up with original game ideas, and get he people from bullfrog to make bullfrog again, and create dungeon keeper 3. So what about you?

I'd probably kick everyone but a few out (friends and family can stay, and their friends I guess).

I like peace and quiet. I could just hang out with my friends all the time without being bothered by people who I don't like.

Just get by I guess, make sure everyone gets along and 'remove' anyone who prevents that from happening.

I'd evict everyone, then have a mansion built on the island.
I would then host... I don't know. Escapism events, I guess.
And try not to get murdered, as too many mansion owners who live on islands end up doing...

I would only let my country be legal for enough time to amass a huge, and secret, supply of weapons and missiles. Then I would take over small countries near me similar to what Napoleon did, and build up a massive empire. And I wouldn't be an idiot about it, either. Russia will be conquered last...

I'd have my giant fortress in the middle and several housing complexes surrounding it. The whole place would be a manufacturing plant of whatever the hell i think of. We'd get our resources from stolen items all around the world

Honestly, I'd try to model it after the United States, and replace all the obesity, shallow consumerism, and the vapid media circus with a much more straightforward and pragmatic form of brainwashing. Oh, and there'd be a picture of me wrestling a bear on the national flag. And I'd live in a castle.... it would be called "Rapture 2.0".

That's the main bits of it anyway. I'd probably live in a mansion on high ground, or in a college dorm-esque quarters for government officials.

I'd have a rather diverse island as far as climate and geography goes.

I'd have a snowcaped mountain range to the north, one thats great for ski'ing and climbing. Were the water meats the mountains ther will be rocky shores and some nice cliffs to go base jumping off of.

In the middle i'd have rolling hills with good soil for farming and such. It would have a (American) southern homely feeling to it, rather quiet and nice.

And to the south I'd have sandy beaches and harbors. The harbors would obviosly be the only way on and off the island since...well...its an island, duh.

The island would have alot of seafood for fresh food along with some cattle and weat depedning on what the farmers want to make and sell. Imports would be rather important so the locals can get more food and other supplies. Because of this, there is a whole other section to the southwest for industrial purposes, this area is where the barges come in, and unload supplies. Also where the electrical and sewage plants will be, you know, industrial stuff.

The whole island would be about 100-150 square miles and would have about 10-15 people per mile, i cant remeber the term for that.

So it would be populated but not scarse or crouded, nice.

Oh and there would be a track around the island for an endurence rally race every year. Just cause.

I'd want an island with beach and forest then I'd construct a few nordic long boats to get to the mainland on and only have electricity in a few areas for a few houses and rest would be ironage all the way. Also I'd host huge island wide LARP's and Paint Ball games.

Well that's a great idea
In fact if I do get my own island/country I will do this instantly ^^ also if that happens I hope you will be available for my ideas person lol

I would finance my own island country by making Marijuana legal and growing it, then sell it on the street in the UK.

Basically do what you want, but I would have a personal security force to expell trouble makers and keep the peace.
