Your Perfect Video Game

Okay guys, as you can probably guess, what would be your perect video game?

Mine would be an rpg style game, like the setup of Fallout 3 but maybe elements from other favourite fps games such as Gears of War. You'd create a simple character personal to you and be edged into post-apocolyptic setting.

You'd then basicly struggle to survive, gathering more survivors, ammo or anything, really, to help you survive. Maybe trying to survive after an atomic war, zombie epidemic or maybe just something else remotely plausable which gamers would like - maybe Global Warming (due to sad gamers like myself using computers non stop) would be an ironic plot?

Either way you scavange everything you can find and hording it, like the filthy vultures we are, using it creating your community out of carboard, sheets of paper and superglue. Then hiding behind your new beacon of hope and the debris you've plotted carefully around it to enable you to then defend it with scavanged and inititive weapons or maybe just point end sticks from a safe cover position! Maybe you chose to help your band of traders/raiders (or if you're an improviser, drifters) survive by finding the nearest car dealership, still miraculously intact, and making them able to convoy across the lands freely... need to find fuel however...

Maybe you could then also add some quests, trying hard not to to make them too repetitive. Maybe using elements of multiplayerbility (if that's a word -_-) by using something out of Spore or going head to head in real time to overcome or unify your friends' tribe(s)/ shanty civilisation(s) through trading of bags of crap or under the treads of your mighty anti-apocolyptic war super-secret weapon ice cream van... which also sells ice creams.

This would then create, hopefully, an everchanging game that you can match to your favourite and most amusing play syle - whether that's bulding a nice high wall around the hidy-hole you built your lair in, bottlenecking your agressors, or just bulding the most, biggest and best weapons to make your oponents shiver in fear.

Please reply on mine or tell me about yours! Also do tell if I'm ranting,

Interesting, how about a Civilization that takes place after/ includes a nuclear apocolypse that seriously changes gameplay, such as scavenging for technologies or supplies for your peoples.

Something I'd like to see:

A 2D platformer with light RPG elements (think Castle Crashers kicked up a notch), in a massive interconnected world. Imagine if every level in SMB 3 or Super Mario World were served in one piece Metroid style. Garnish with some clever puzzles, and maybe co-op play.

I like your idea (Fallout 3 with nation building is just made of awesome), but it's pretty clearly a rant ;)

For me...
any game where your controls are your actual body and mind but you have super powers so you can be like someone from Dragonball Z or something.
or what Killersamman said but made all cartoony like psychonauts and dream physics like psychonauts

I thought about something along these lines. I was playing around with modding Civ IV, and considered something like Lost or Lord of the Flies, where you've got a bunch of castaways trying to build a society on an island. Of course, that's incredibly ambitious, but we can dream.

A next generation Bushido Blade that takes place in past, present, and future. Storyline branches like whoa.

An RPG with an active battle system that requires actual strategy. One without excessive cutscenes. One with a story that has nothing to do with politics... at all. One where it is perfectly okay to be an asshole. One where the voice acting doesn't make me cry in pain. One were I can actually be a freaking villian even if I die in the end! Or perhaps switch between.

WHY IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK FOR?

I've been yearning for a good zombie RTS for a while now.
There's been discussion on it before; they included playing as zombies, hobo survivors, and the military. That would be kickass if it was done right.

The game I'm working on; an RPG set in ancient times where.. well.. I guess I shouldn't say. @_@ But rest assured there are horses and epic charges and sieging and plot twists and irony and other such tomfoolery.

It would be epic!

But I'm not at liberty to discuss details, don't know whose reading this *makes shifty eye movements"

Maybe try Disgaea?

On topic: Perfection is unattainable all games will eventually becom boring, w\people will always find a way to improve, nothing will universally be condidered as 'perfect'
