Your Plan for the Apocalypse

I've spent well over a thousand dollars on supplies for the Zombie Apocalypse, (weapons, ammo, canned food, hand-crank generator, house upgrades, that crap...) but I'm sure that I could modify it into Nuclear Apocalypse survival supplies...

...and I just happen to keep it all in an underground bunker I have out back...

Only, over 1000, how did you do it?

It cost that much to buy the bunker, let alone install it. I plan on building one myself, even if I do all the manual work myself, renting a backhoe $200, buying the metal bunker $700-$1000 (and that is small), getting permits and legal fees are at least another $500.

Food that is dried (To last years) is expensive (I swear $10/MRE really). Water and water storage is also expensive (mainly the storage.

I would be impressed if you were able to spend less than $5000 on a quality survival plan.

I have bee building some of the basics up over time but right now I have no bunker on only a 3 month supply of food and water. Also, I have a hygiene system set up.

The only time I ever had a problem with this was with Garry's mod, which for some reason wouldn't run in online mode on my laptop. I have a PC now and it all seems to work fine. I'm enjoying Penumbra: Overture at the moment and plan on getting the sequel thats on sale, especially since I can't run Amnesia.

well first thing to do is to get my hands on my apocalypsing clothes, and other gear. then fill a hiking backpack with as much canned food and other necessary supplies, wait out the first wave of nukes,then go to the nearest military base, about a 3 hour walk, with all of the aforemetioned gear, if the apocalypse is of a more zombie variety, book it like hell with most basic supplies to the military base, improve from that point forward.

Nothing I live in a town to small to care about zombies or nukes. Theres noway my hometown would be over run since everyone has a gun and the population is only about so, and my town isn't even on a map and isn't anywhere near anything important. They only way they would nuke it if it was by accident.

Either way, I'd suit up in weather-appropriate gear with what supplies I could find around the house, and run around the area taking out raiders and trying to help people with the intent to set up a small community of survivors. Yes, I know it's very likely to get me killed, but what's the point of surviving if you're not gonna live? La-dee-fucking-da if I survive long enough to be an old man, but humanity is still fucked if I haven't tried to rebuild society.

nukes: I'd probably kill myself. I live 2 1/2 hours from NYC which I'm assuming would be a target so I'd probably get the fallout and I'd rather not die like

nuclear: my town isn't really that important, I'd probably be able to hide in either the attic or the basement and survive for a long time if neccesary, but I doubt it would come to that here
