Can you work at home? If holding a full time job is simply impossible for you (no idea, not a doctor), then perhaps look up doing something online to make money. Something perhaps more creative, or where the hours matter less. Translation or writing work are good for that.Aetera said:I'm just mentally ill enough(hi, type II bipolar disorder and dysthymia!) to not be able to hold down a full-time job, but not mentally ill enough to get disability. I'm right on the cusp between the two, and it sucks. Because of it, I'm stuck still living with my parents at 27.
I don't know enough about your country or it's laws to give advice, but try talking more to whoever holds the pursestrings regarding welfare. Explain your situation. Try talking to your doctor about it. If you seem earnest, perhaps they'll realise you cannot function with a full time job.
Even if you get disability, it's important you do something. Unemployment will suck life out of you, so it's important to have something to be proud of. If you're a painter, then paint things and sell it. A writer, write. You get the idea. Achievements are important for the soul.
Once you get a steady paycheck/disability check, I imagine you can either begin looking to move out. Depending on your mental state (not a doctor), could you use therapy or behavioural-cognitive techniques to make managing your condition possible? Again, talk to your doctor about this.
Nothing wrong with living at home with your parents; plenty are in this economy. As long as you keep trying to better yourself, you have nothing to be ashamed of.
