Who of you have actually took the time to fill in your profile details like interests, msn, Xbox Live or other online accounts? If not, why?

...And who wouldn't mind of getting added by yours truly?

While we're at it riddle me this: Do you think these kind of online profile pages are bad, deceiving or anything like that?

that would depend on who you are because I'm one of those few who only adds online friends who actually would constitute a friend instead of someone who I just saw a single post from or played a match on a game with and

No, I don't think they are bad, so long as you don't reveal any personal information which may be important. I wouldn't list my last name, for example.

I usually fill mine with all kinds of awesome (albeit false) information. Some things, like my name and my interests, I keep legit. Subjects like location and place of employment I have to.... "upgrade" a little bit.

That's what I do too. I'm not concerned though. People can add me and chat to me/play games with me or whatever but it's just the internet, if you're a total weirdo I can just block you.

I usually feel bad for all the stalkers out there what with all the empty profiles everywhere, so I usually fill things out so they have something to do, and I sit all alone in my room waiting for that time they find me, with two cups of tea waiting on the table, a lit candle and some relaxing music... But they never show.


Eh. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. This forum feels somehow impersonal, it's too large for my usual tastes, I don't really know anyone, and I feel it'd be hard to. I don't think I have much filled out here, but usually I'm very open about stuff, both on profiles and in my posts.

I don't mind people adding me as a friend, but I've never seen the point, and I don't do it myself. If I have a friend on a forum, I know that, and that person knows that, and we can read each others' posts and pm anyway, so why would we add it? For other people to see? To show off with how many friends we've got? I just don't see the point. If I do someday see a point with it, I just might start adding people.


I don't think that online profiles like this are necessarily bad, but to me, I don't really see the use, as they are. When I'm at a forum, I check out the forum. If something about a person doesn't show in the little box next to their post, or in the post itself, I can seldom be bothered to go look for it. I'd love it if more showed up in that little box though, but whatever.

This. The only way it would be bad is if you were retarded and put your credit card numbers, SSN, etc. On there.

I fill my profile out with (mostly) true information, merely because I can. I don't put up XBL or MSN or anything like that because I don't have those accounts.

I generally forget to friend people, and feel weird when they friend me except when I actually know the person a bit.

I filled out my interests and everything but I dont have XBOX live yet, I'm getting a 360 for Christmas, so soon. And no, in the future if anyone wants to add me they can go for it.
