These are my major, "Pump up," songs. I change up the list from time to time, but these are the ones I have been listening to lately.

I find Iron Maiden, In Flames and Shadows Fall good for weights, just not Another Hero Lost or Afraid to Shoot Strangers, awesome as they are, they don't seem to work for motivation.

Any of the loud stuff by The Vines. Try the following: Get Free, Ride, Get Out, Don't Listen To The Radio, Anysound, Highly Evolved and Dope Train for starters.

I have way too many to list. Three ,though, is fine, I guess.

Slayer - War Ensemble

Lamb of God - Beating on Death's Door

Children of Bodom - Children of Decadence

Blue Orchid by The White Stripes. It's a song that can only be described as "IT ROCKS" and yet doesn't sound cliche.

Dude, how can you train for any sporting event without [a href=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mu9xx5Ri278] Eye of the Tiger[/a] by Survivor?
It's like jinxing yourself to fail.

Next you're gonna tell me you won't be using a montage to train either.
That's exactly what I thought of when I read the OP: Halo Theme [Mjolnir mix] (see what I did?)...

The Forgotten & Reckoning - Killswitch Engage
Bodies and Words - Silverstein
Down With the Sickness - Disturbed
Duality - Slipknot
Guerrilla Radio - Rise Against the Machine
How Can I Live - Ill Nino
Nobody - Skindred
Soviet Connection (The music they play at the end credits of GTA IV, it was a free DL on Amazon! =D)

There ya go. The ultimate "pump up" playlist.

Cyberbird off of the GITS:SAC soundtrack is pretty good. Also, most of Imperative Reaction's last three albums have been good at pumping up.

Hey, a fellow runner (though I'm not crazy enough to attempt a marathon, I'll stick to 5 and 10Ks, thanks). Here's a few songs from my usual running mixes:

"Spit It Out" - IAMX
"Running Up That Hill" - Placebo
"Never There" - Cake
"Take Your Mama" - Scissor Sisters
"Supermassive Black Hole" - Muse
"Lazy Eye" - Silversun Pickups
"Get Free" - The Vines
"She's Not There" - Santana
"Suffragette City" - David Bowie
"Something Is Not Right With Me" - Cold War Kids
"Forget Myself" - Elbow
"I Predict A Riot" - Kaiser Chiefs
"Mayday" - People In Planes
"Club Foot" - Kasabian
"The Feel Good Drag" - Anberlin
"Ohio Is For Lovers" - Hawthorne Heights
"Blister In the Sun" - Violent Femmes
"Beating Heart Baby" - Head Automatica
"Walk Away" - Mad At Gravity
"The Kids Aren't Alright" - The Offspring
"Psycho" - Puddle of Mudd
"The Ascent of Stan" - Ben Folds

As you might be able to guess, I have an eclectic taste in music. These songs are currently in my rotation, and the variance of styles means I don't get sick of anything too fast. But I usually change up my playlist pretty frequently.
