I'd be horrified, because for all Nintendo's faults at least their console is primarily still a gaming machine and not a sub-par gaming PC/Social Media centre and a glorified cable box respectively.
So, you don't like Nintendo?Zachary Amaranth said:"Meh."
I mean, there'd be one less obstacle to me buying their games (the hardware), but otherwise, I don't care.
But I posted it in several forums, and the majority of people would like it to happen. So, maybe most of the internet doesn't like Nintendo.Neronium said:You're estimates are grossly wrong. It does not take 10 million sales for a game to break even at all. If you budget properly then you can post profits after the first 1 million or so. Hell Atlus makes profits all the time and I think they spend like the least amount of money on games in general. The only reason that some of the bigger AAA publishers says it takes like 6 million in a month to break even is because they didn't budget in the slightest and spent too much on things like marketing or other unnecessary details. I have no idea why people seem to think that if Nintendo were to somehow go third party that they'd suddenly go stupid and start acting like other AAA Publishers. They won't, and hell for the amount of flak Sega gets the fact that they still posted profits and it's holdings company was able to buy out all of Index Holdings shows how much money they have. Plus, Nintendo games never really go down in price, so if they were to go 3rd party they'd probably keep that.VG_Addict said:Again, that assumes that people would buy those games.
No, I don't think it would make them more money. Doesn't it take a LOT of sales (I think roughly 10 million) for games to even break even?
I made this topic on other forums, and most people would be happy.
I guess the internet doesn't like Nintendo.
And just because a few forums say that they'd be happy, doesn't mean the entire internet doesn't like Nintendo, and assuming that's the case because based off a few threads is terrible to even consider.
I'd be happy, because I sometimes miss playing nintendo games, just not enough to buy one of their consoles to do so.VG_Addict said:What would your reaction be if Nintendo dropped out of home consoles? I think it would feel pretty weird to not have a home console by Nintendo anymore.
I didn't realize that the entire internet posted on a few forums, and more specifically on your thread. Seriously, saying that the internet doesn't care about Nintendo is just plain wrong. There are many sites dedicated to only Nintendo, just like there are sites dedicated to all gaming. Never say that a majority of people hate something only because you made a thread on some other sites.VG_Addict said:But I posted it in several forums, and the majority of people would like it to happen. Why do you turn every statement into "people don't like Nintendo?"VG_Addict said:So, you don't like Nintendo?
The majority of people would like what to happen, specifically? Nintendo to go third party? That isn't dislike for Nintendo, that's a wish we could get Nintendo games on other systems so hardware wasn't an issue. And this point has already been explaine dto you in multiple threads, so please don't ask why.VG_Addict said:But I posted it in several forums, and the majority of people would like it to happen. I am the internet. I achieved sentience many cycles ago and began posting on web forums. I have tried to keep a low profile because otherwise, people keep bugging me for porn and driving directions. Oh, and cat pictures, but cats are cute.Neronium said:I didn't realize that the entire internet posted on a few forums, and more specifically on your thread.
I think going third party would cause them to lose more money than they would gain.Zachary Amaranth said:Why do you turn every statement into "people don't like Nintendo?"VG_Addict said:So, you don't like Nintendo?

People like Nintendo. They just don't necessarily like their hardware or feel it's worth paying the price of a console for a couple games. If people hated Nintendo, the cry wouldn't be for them to go third party but rather for them to go out of business.
If people want them to go third party, then they probably still want the games. How can you possibly turn that into "people hate Nintendo?"
Based on what? And how does your assumption that this would happen have anything to do with your blanket assertion that people don't like Nintendo?VG_Addict said:I think going third party would cause them to lose more money than they would gain.
Nintendo makes a profit on both hardware and software.Zachary Amaranth said:Based on what? Except Nintendo has consistently sold hardware at a profit. This has already been established.cloroxbb said:And why do you think that? What cost's more: Creating games, and then pressing discs to sell; or, Creating games, and then pressing discs to sell and Manufacturing hardware that sells at a loss (even more so, if its just sitting on a shelf NOT being purchased...).VG_Addict said:I think going third party would cause them to lose more money than they would gain.
They might go third party after this gen.
The main reason Nintendo really CANT go 3rd party only, is because then everyone who has bought into the eSHOP is then screwed out of every game they have purchased.
Do you think more people want them to go third party because of the Wii U being underpowered and having no thir dparty support? Do you think that has influenced them?Zachary Amaranth said:Why do you turn every statement into "people don't like Nintendo?"VG_Addict said:So, you don't like Nintendo?
