Yes, this is also to help me get some tips in the game :D

After recieving Bioshock for Christmas with my 360, I was greatly pleased to see that it did live up to the hype (at least in my expectations). I was astounded at the great number of choices that the game can let you approach your enemies also. Yes, at first all we get is a wrench and the ever so useful, Electro Bolt, but after an hour or two, we're all going to have some big choices on how to approach beating the rest of the enemies in a game.

So what tactics do all of you approach to get past the game? Which Plasmids and weapons go towards your favor? Personally, I cannot get over Telekinisis, as it not only does amazing damage, but it's greatly satisfying to chuck a Bouncer or a Rosie at a group of enemies who're stupid enough to attack you.

Set them on fire so they run in to the water, then zap the water with the electro bolt and electrocute them, that's pretty cool. You can zap multiple enemies at once with this, if they're all standing in a big puddle. Just make sure you're also not standing in the puddle.

Also try hypnotising a Big Daddy, then find another Big Daddy and piss it off, then watch the two Big Daddies fight it out. Also enrage any other neaerby enemies so they too get involved in the fun. If there's a few splicers around you can get a nice zone of violence going with the Enrage plasmid. This also saves you ammo, and you can then leave them alone, come back and loot all the bodies after.

Bioshock is a great game, if you haven't already played System Shock 2. If you have, Bioshock comes across as a bit babyish and lacking but it's still better than most FPS.

I completed the game on the hardest mode using only the wrench and the shock as weapons.

My next mission is doing the game without hacking anything. God knows I dread doing that stupid puzzle again (for the 800th time).

I think the thing about this game is that you can play strategically any way you like. Experiment and have fun.

I completely ignored the hype. I had no idea what the game was about until I hired it. One of the best FPS I've played.

I liked the one where the security system would hunt down an enemy only because I hated it when it came after me. Electricity one is a definite if only to shut down machinery. Telekinesis is also fun to use just to pick up anything and fling it at enemies Gravity Gun style.

Telekinesis. Corpses. Best weapons in the game. They're everywhere, they're free, AND they have a huge damage radius. What more do you need? Sure, you have to use the heavier weapons for Big Daddies, but with sheer amount of ammo the game throws at you, it's not a problem.

Bioshock had such creative killing, it was such a treat.

My main strategy was to abuse the stationary camo. I had plasmids that allowed me to freeze folks with my wrench, run faster, swing the wrench faster, do more damage with it, and absorb health with it, too. The electric shockwave plasmid that activates when you're hit helps, too. So basically I would listen for enemies, then when they would patrol my area, I'd stand still and go invisible. If they got close enough, I'd destroy them with my wrench. If not, it was the crossbow (you have all the time in the world to aim for the head when they don't know you're standing 10 feet away from them).

Oh yeah, for splicers, nothing beats Telekinesis. I found out while trying it out that if you get a splicer with a hat on, you can bring it toward you, and then fling it back to kill the guy. I tell you, nothing beats killing a splicer with their own hat.

I didn't use Telekinesis that much. In fact, my use of it was limited to RPG turret-counters pretty much.

I did trigger a lot of alarms, only to shock-n-hack the sentry drones that come out to kill you.

My mother said if I didn't have anything nice to say that I shouldn't say it at all.

My Bioshock strategy involves pushing the power button. HAR HAR HAR!

Decoy into an oil patch then Incinerate! Fun!

Fire a crossbow bolt, then use Telekinesis to pull it out and stick it back in over and over, even more fun!

Luring Big Daddy into an intricate web of Tripwire and Proximity Mine traps? Priceless!

Big Daddies are fun, when you get the sticky grenade ammo, cover an item in them, like a gas canister or other explosive item, pick it up with telekinesis and hurl it at the big daddy, the Grenades will explode, and the canister, then it's a matter of popping a couple of bullets in to polish him off if he's still standing.

Yeah, goading a Big Daddy into charging down a corridor chock full of tripwires and proximity mines, to come to a sliding halt at your feet = awesome.

I use the plasmid that makes Big Daddy think your a little girl. Then i just let him do all the work.

My second favourate method is to use the Plasmid that makes an enermy attack another.

And my third is to use the fire and Elctric bolt plasmids to get them to run into water to die.

I always enjoyed freezing a group of splicers with the Chemical Thrower's liquid nitrogen, then pulling out the grenade launcher and blowing them all to bits.

And there are always loads of fun ways to take down a Big Daddy

This is the 5 step plan I usually follow when taking on a Big Daddy
1) Set a crap load of trip wires and proximity mines down a narrow hallway
2) Find a corpse
3) Set it on fire with Incinerate,
4) Pick up the corpse with Telekinesis and throw it at the Daddy to get its attention (and set it on fire)
5) Lure the Daddy into the trip wires and mines and watch the fireworks

Or the what is probably the easiest way to kill a Big Daddy:
1) Equip the Electric Flesh 2 tonic
2) Upgrade the Chemical Thrower with the reduced consumption rate, and switch it to Electric Gel ammo (make sure you have around 100 units of the gel)
3) Find the Daddy and hit it with the Electric Gel
4) Watch as the Gel saps its health, while leaving it stunned and unable to attack you

Yeah, I discovered this when I decided to use the Electric Gel as a lark because I had never used it before.
You can equip both Electric Flesh 1 and 2, and I think it increases the damage even more.

Electric Flesh + Trap Bolts is also incredibly effective. Taking out a Big Daddy only required 3-4 Trap Bolts. Ill have to admit though, killing Big Daddies without even breaking your Camo is kinda lame :D

Some other tips:
-Picking up objects with Telekinesis requires no Eve, which makes it a great way to check if a splicer lying on the floor is actually dead or just faking.
-Bees will attack Neutral Big Daddies.
-Hypnotize Big Daddy is extremely dangerous, I only tried to use it once. If you accidentally hit your BD with any kind of attack (even fire spreading from an enemy to him) he will turn on you. Also, the BD AI handles multiple attackers pretty poorly. The enemy splicers will mostly just ignore the BD and gun for you, which is a problem when you cannot really fight back for fear of angering your protector.

1) Take pictures of every single turret and bot you can find, instant hacks are real easy ways to turn a security alert into a recruitment session.

2) Telekenisis Big Daddies into splicers, it's pretty much a bowling ball knocking down a bunch of mentally unstable, poorly dressed pins.

3) As for the chemical thrower, when in doubt, whip it out.

Yeah you can stack the Electric Flesh plasmids to deal even more damage with electricity, I only mentioned equipping EF 2 because the rest of my combat tonic space is always taken up by both of the Human Inferno tonics and the Wrentch Jockey tonics, as well as the Armored Shell tonic.

Which this brings me to another tactic, in the event that a splicer gets around your traps, or just flat out comes from a different direction from said traps, you can use the new Sonic Boom plasmid to send them flying into them.

I guess this would also work with the Cyclone Trap plasmid, only not to the same degree, because Cyclone Trap send things flying up, instead of out, like Sonic Boom does.

This is a great tactic. If done right it's perfectly safe. The only annoying part is taking too long to set them up. Then you have to chase the big daddy, shoot him, then run back and CAREFULLY pass through your minefield without dying to your angry pursuit.
It's games like Bioshock that make me realise how staid my FPS tactics are. I avoid the strange new thing that might work for what definitely works. Then I complain about how boring the weapon set is.
