This topic's pretty simple. For those who play Mortal Kombat (2011), with which character are you most skilled?

For me, it's this guy.

Sadly, I've yet to determine if it's because of skill or because of balancing issues.

Ermac needs a serious balance patch, but he's a good character anyway.

I'm not really sure exactly what my main will be so far as I'm still going through everything in the Tower, Arcade etc. But so far I like Scorpion (duh), Kitana, Kabal and Cyrax off the top of my head. I'll likely end up maining one of them when it comes to online play.

I was also surprised to see Stryker actually being decent.

Personally I enjoy Johnny Cage. He's always been my guy and this iteration just makes it more better.

Yes, more better :p

Stryker.

I've played him since UMK3, so I'm glad to see how smooth his animations and combos are. Plus, his 'Busted' X-RAY is always cringe inducing to watch, which I like.

I like Johnny Cage, he's easily the guy I'm best as out of everyone in the game. That's not to say I'm actually any good as him. Guessing he's probably just overpowered or too easy to play as or something, but all I know is I lose less as him and it's fun so leave me alone.

Kinda like Sub-Zero too, because sliding FTW. I get Raiden in there too every now and again, usually just to get Shao Kahn out the way, because Teleport FTW.
Also, Kabal. I just like to troll with his spinning-running thing. Doing 0% damage is rarely that fun.

Never really did like Stryker. At least, not until this one. Have you seen his damage model? His tibia is sticking out of his leg. And he still fights.

Every time I practice with him, I always put him up against Jax, yelling as I hit him with the X-Ray Attack "Stop resisting! Stop resisting!"

Yes, I am indeed a twisted bastard.

I'm torn between Smoke and Scorpion.
As Smoke I'm better with sudden counters and have a higher "Flawless Victory" rate, but with Scorpion I have really control over attacks and can merge attacks for long combos.
So in a tournament i would go with scorpion, but on the single-player arcade I would go with Smoke.
That ***** Shao Khan spams those unblockable hammers on the higher difficulties.

Look at the icon! Stryker drew me possibly because we share an occupation. That and his liberal use of the baton. Always been drawn to him whenever he's in an MK game. In the MK Cartoon he was voiced by Ron Perlman. So yeah.

This guy is a close second.
Pretty much because of huge balance issues.

As an ex-fanatic of combat games, I need to state that after my PS2 died I lost all hope in the genre.
Do you think I can return to the genre?
What have changed over the past five years?

Know what the flip side of that is? Stryker is my single best character for fighting Shao Khan normally, aside from Raiden, Kitana, and others who have teleport-esque moves. His gun breaks your guard if you don't hold it on the second shot.

In fact, I did notice that Stryker's tibia sticks out if he takes too much damage on his legs. That would RUIN your leg for life if not set, but this is MK after all. They can get away with BS like this.

They stopped all the nonsense (3D fighting, never-ending roster, stupid campaigns), and brought us back the game we grew up playing in the 90's. Only much prettier and with a fuckton more content. And a kick-ass story mode, the first decent story mode I've ever seen in a fighting game.

Plus, it's just plain fun.

if u want a character with cool combos try noob most of his special moves are pretty much designed to go with his combos. shang tsung can also do this to a lesser degree (although im total shit with him :p)

OK i shall check them out , but seeing that i have the game on ps3, i haven't been online enough. I have only tested some characters online on a friends x-box, btw laggy online, and the x-box controller is so inaccurate with the shitty analog and the equally inaccurate "d-pad" so I'll wait until sony resurrect PSN

Also Johnny Cage can be quite good if you use him with a strong defense and some quick counters, his special moves are made for "wake-up attacks", stopping combos and special moves, and starting sudden combo strings.
